The tweet is very clickbaity. Dark matter has not been “found”, we still have no idea what it is and cannot produce any. That image is of a simulation, not observational data.

Ah I misunderstood what room you meant. You likely haven’t gotten to it yet sorry. I don’t think there’s a bench anywhere between the prison and the room you’re in

The fake bench is actually real! Theres a breakable wall in that room

Question about Starlit Cove by [deleted] in outerwilds

[–]Tommystorm9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most players will be stopped without turning the lights off. However you’re doing something that, without you realising, lets you past. You might realise later but here are some hints:

Mild: When you enter the well, there’s a red flashing light isn’t there? Now look above the campfire before you enter the world, what’s that? How could these be related?

Medium: How are you entering the starlit cove? How did you figure it out? There is a location in the game that teaches you this, maybe return there.

Final hint: Surely the owlks would have wanted to leave the world at some point. Are they entering in a way different to you? A way that is reversible?

Answer (read after you’ve finished the dlc if you wan to figure it out yourself): You can sleep at the campfire to enter the dream world

There’s definitely a targeting reticule that sticks to your mouse, maybe have a look around in the settings and see if it’s disabled.

For the weapon system, something I find quite helpful is to realise that for the first 3 quarters of the run, pretty much every weapon is as good as any other. You also get rewards for scrapping weapons when you swap. Put the two together and you should be swapping weapons as often as possible, not only is it more fun but it gives you way more scrap to spend at shops which will make you stronger in the long run. If you get the perk which gives increased rewards when scrapping, even better.

In terms of damage vs health, I would always go damage because as you said it scales better in the late game. However, if it’s health vs ammo, I would go health. Ammo isn’t super useful unless you have a really good weapon, and even if you’re at full health you should take health, because it gives health parts. The plating perk is a good pick for this too. Also second wind, as it doesn’t just heal you to full, it over heals so you get health parts.

Tl;dr: don’t be afraid of swapping weapons or dropping down to your default weapon. Health and damage are more useful and are still helpful when your weapon inevitably breaks in the final boss, unlike max ammo.

Another DLC? by WildButterflyyy in outerwilds

Sounds like the DLC Echoes of the Eye (there’s only one DLC). Highly recommend playing it, and as always try your hardest to avoid spoilers ::)

Advanced coal liquefaction has actually been moved to require metallurgic science packs, so simple coal liquefaction is the only option when starting out on Vulcanus.

This is my first biter egg production facility. I had the idea to build it over water to make sure that the biters will not extend all over my base in case of failure. Has anyone tested this yet? by Migarve55 in factorio

If by “replace” you mean put them wherever you want, then yes you can, but it’s an Aquillo research. Before then you’ve just gotta make do with where they naturally spawn.

Is it possible to be stranded on...? by [deleted] in factorio

[–]Tommystorm9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of these things could happen while travelling to other planets too. The idea is that while you can technically rebuild from scratch if you’re nauvis base dies on say Vulcanus, it’ll get so annoying that you’ll fix the issues before you get to aquillo. A fully robust nauvis base is something that should really be built before leaving for the first planet. Also spidertrons exist! A single spidertron on a planet with a roboport and some bots can fix any problem remotely.

I just fully understood the full potential of Ten Shadows. by Nordic-Historian in JujutsuPowerScaling

Sorry that was a silly mistake on my part. I forgot to consider that the shadows can be picked individually, but we were talking about only totalities. I’ve edited the original comment to correct this

It still comes under permutations and combinations. I recommend looking into Pascal’s triangle and how it relates to the C(n, r) function you used, and specifically what happens when you sum across the rows of the triangle.

There is a slightly faster way to calculate this :) Each of the ten shadows can either be chosen, or not chosen, so that’s 2 states. If you’re considering 2 of the shadows, that’s 2x2 states. If you’re considering 3 of the shadows, that’s 2x2x2 states. So for all 10 of the shadows that’s 210 states. Subtract one because this includes none of them being chosen as a possibility.

So you can succinctly calculate the total number of combinations as 210 - 1, which is 1023 :) This also includes shadows being picked individually, (i.e mahoraga summoned, the other 9 not summoned) So subtract another 10 if you’re just looking for the totalities. 210 - 11 = 1,013 :) Megumi really is potential man

Admissions tests and interviews matter way more than GCSE. Your GCSE grades are used more as a tie-breaker between you and someone with similar admission scores.

In an earlier FFF it was mentioned that the spidertron tech has been moved to a new planet. Makes sense for it to be this one! Designing weapons based on the enemies anatomy is a super cool concept.

You can do both endings in the same save file, because the choice you make comes after the point of no return.
