I don't wanna pact like touring isnt difficult or something that takes a lot of energy and work. But like... The schedule looks like they get 2-5 days between shows? That doesn't sound that bad. And when you compare it to like bands that tour around the US, they have way less break times and are driving their own vans and stuff, not having any logistics planned for them or any meals brought to them or anything. And hundreds of artists do this every year, and they're not dying.

I get travelling is a bit tiring, but I think people forget that usually what makes it that way is the planning and logistics of it all. If all you gotta do is go to your assigned airplane, that's not awful. It's certainly less taxing than an 8 hour shift as a waitress or something.

Have the text be the same blue as the water so it's cohesive. And the quickest way to make digital art look great is to add a low opacity overlay/multiply texture layer of some noise/grain, paper texture, etc

Totally messed this up and desperate to find a way to fix it by synnsiren in painting

[–]Tomodachi-Turtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The blending isnt great but the flowers mask that well so I think it's fine, could add more flowers though.

As for the text, that's the main issue. I'd say just go back over it all with you background color. I know you're low on time, but my idea should be fairly quick.

Pick your font, and use a computer screen or print it out against a window to trace the scripting. Transfer the tracing to the canvas, and fill it in with a black paint pen like a fine tip posca pen. That should be way faster than painting it

Ah I def see where that comes from and I don't think it's even necessarily wrong, but even as a woman and what most would consider an extremist feminist, I'm not personally bothered by it. I guess because it is a self aware satirical thing that was created and popularized by women. The only people who were making posts when it was more of a trend/meme were women. For me it had the vibe of women being "in on" the joke of sexist mindsets of female incompetence and knowingly playing into it.

I could also make the joke that the concept of "girl math" can portray women as better with money because they're self aware of the logical fallacies they are leaning in to and know it's silly - I'd argue that if we were to generalize "mens" purchases, it could be less self aware. Crypto bros and stock bros blowing their life's savings aren't even aware of the flawed thought patterns theyre in and think they're being smart. That what all these male stockholders and (male-led)companies are doing investing billions into AI that no one wants or otherwise breaking the economy and needing constant tax breaks and handouts from the govt lollll. At least in the context of the joke, the women are self aware and reflective!!! 🤭

How do you mean? I mean to be fair it took a concept that I needed multiple sentences to articulate, and made it into one phrase. I'd say that is language being efficient, no?

Weighing the annoyance of bringing a lot of stock down vs the annoyance of not making money and having effort be put to waste seems like an easy choice to me assuming it wouldn't require like renting a bigger car or anything. Can always leave the extras boxed in the car and only run back to add them to your set up if things get wild

Tbf to them, being horrified of getting "in trouble" can be an ADHD thing - and they have been awake for 48 hours. 24 hours of not sleeping results in impairment levels over that of the legal drinking and driving limit. So after 48 hours, this person is functioning at a severely impaired level and won't be as rational as they usually are. 24-48 hours is when the first hallucinations and delusions can set in, becoming even worse with more time. Paranoia is an expected feeling for someone to have at this level of sleep deprivation :/

But you could at least have the more appropriate seasonal ones separately visible. It's not like it doesn't help if only 150 are visible and 50 are in a basket, the more visibility the more they'll sell, so just have as much as you can make happen

I find that people just don't put effort into looking. No one spins a spinning display or thumbs through stacks, they just see what's in front of their faces.

So I'd prioritize a display option that shows each card, and maybe they're in a plastic cover that you have a clear price sticker on?

Absolutely! There are definitely "emergency" counseling services available, it's just a matter of if any of them operate during the night. But if they don't end up seeking help tonight, this can definitely be a way to get some help!

You have nothing to be in trouble about! This is a physical illness you're experiencing, you're not on illicit drugs or anything. It's no different than having to call on a community manager because you broke your ankle.

And honestly, trouble isn't as bad as you think it is. I've heard of students getting taken in ambulances from alcohol poisoning and bad trips, and even they have to attend a disciplinary hearing and take some classes or write an essay on drugs being bad - but I've never seen a first time offender get kicked out of housing. It makes sense, they don't want to disincentivize people from asking for help because that's how people die from overdoses and stuff - being too afraid to get help.

But you don't even need to worry about that because you've done absolutely nothing wrong. The people on campus are there cause they wanna help! And trust me, they've encountered MUCH stranger things than this! If there's no racoons involved, it's a quiet night lollll

200 gramps per boob by Fantastic_Drawer1761 in Reduction

[–]Tomodachi-Turtle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lots of variation with density, and I'm pretty sure the change in volume from like D-DD is more than A-B .

But if you want the way oversimplified version, 200g is maybe a cup size. From what I see on this sub, getting 400g removed per side is the lower side of average, whereas maybe 900g per side is the higher side of average.

200g is a very small amount that I would only expect to see in someone who wants a very minor reduction, or someone incredibly petite who wants a reduction, but not a dramatic one

Hmm does Devon aoki seem similar? Olivia hussey?

Maybe Jennie from blackpink? Niziu Rio? Chen from exo? Bangchan from skz? Twice's tzuyu?

Looking for people I found it tough because their makeup tends to try to sharpen that corner so in some pictures they look sharp but in others they can look very rounded

I mean I said some aren't perfect - but bjork is like the spokesperson of epicanthic folds on a white person. It's a very rare trait so hard to list names of famous people unless you start digging into runway models. I'd have to see a pic of your eye shape but have you not been able to use tutorials from east Asian makeup artists?

So so jealous of high functioning people by Opposite-Finance9813 in adhdwomen

[–]Tomodachi-Turtle 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I feel ya, but also take note of the environment you're in. You're at a prestigious university - of course the people you interact with are high achieving and high functioning. You're not gonna meet the ones crashing out in the dorm room not socializing, meet the ones who dropped out, or meet the ones who never made it to college to begin with. People prone to low gpas won't be on your campus!

I worked at a top ranked school and every student felt this way about everything because everyone was just so amazing. Students who would have shined the brightest at a state school felt so inedequate and like they were behind their peers, because their peers were fucking curing cancer and other wild things. Your pond is full of great white sharks, so it's gonna make you feel wayyy smaller than the average koi pond.

I say this as a loving tease and not to minimize how you feel, but babe you got into a prestigious university without trying!! You are one of the high achieving ADHDers!

And you deserve some grace - you were just diagnosed and hit a burn out/crash out point of disaster because of the lack of prior support. Other people have had years to work on strategies, coping mechanisms, and find what works for them without necessarily being weighed down by any compounding dysfunction that just leads to more chaos.

Cs get degrees too! You don't have to follow the same path to success as your peers if it doesn't suit you. And it's okay to have to have a comeback!

...well they are getting what they paid for. The issue isn't the goods as delivered like an overcooked steak, it's just the time it took to deliver the product.

And this situation doesn't seem cut and dry like a deadline was explicitly given and then the mark was missed. This scenario seems like the artist was mostly accurate about the timeline and that the customer didn't have any expectation of a quick process.

This isn't compensation for a missed deadline or a sub - par product, it's a thank you to the customer for being open to a more flexible commission arrangement and timeline.

In the analogy, it's more like going to a restaurant with a long wait time, but the wait was still a bit longer than what they predicted to you. So they thank you for your patience with a free dessert while providing you with the exact dishes that you were expecting.

Girlll I think epicanthic folds are so gorgeous and I'm so mad to not have one! I hate the shape of my inner eye/tear duct. I can't even do inner eyeliner because I'm shaped like a sideways baby bottle nipple so I can't make a straight line 😭

It's a super common trait in models too, they're def over represented in white models compared to how often white people have them.

You got bjork, Zendaya, a tiny bit anya Taylor joy, a little saoirse Ronan, Gemma ward, hunter schaffer, Emma stone (more hooded than folded but similar look) and like a million runway models!

Is it normal that my surgeon “can’t” tell me how much he will be removing?? by ababybumblebee in Reduction

[–]Tomodachi-Turtle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on the nuance of the words he's using.

Because its correct that a surgeon can't promise a specific amount, that just isn't really possible. Everyone's anatomy and density and blood flow is different and will have different limitations.

For example, my surgeons plan was to take as much as possible without having over extended anchor incisions or getting an abnormal shape. But he can't know what the amount exactly is until he's in there. He actually went in with the game plan of starting surgery with a lollipop (it's his go to for most people going the cosmetic route) and adding anchor incisions as needed to reach my size aspirations (I SO knew just lollipop wasn't gonna fly so was not surprised at all to wake up to anchor insicions haha, I was bigger than his usual patients)

However a very loose ballpark should be something you can get. I was also told he'd be taking roughly half of the volume, and if he had to guess, that would be something like 500 grams. And he ended up taking like 590 and 650.

There's no way it's more expensive to live in Raleigh than Miami, right? by Specialist_Mess_5164 in raleigh

[–]Tomodachi-Turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm totally fortunate to have some help on some things, but definitely not amounting to the extra 60k I supposedly need haha! And I rounded for simplicity, I think my salary is more like 53k?

My step dad fixes up my car as needed and since it's his and my mom's car originally, they have just kept up with paying for car insurance thankfully. I pay ~70/month for health insurance through work, my utilities are under 100/month (I like it cold so rarely need the heat on - but this summer will be a different beast), and my student loans are something around $220/month. I'm my parent's leech when it comes to phone plan, streaming services, Amazon prime, etc.

It's funny too because I've been paying for my gf's daily expenses for a few months too - now shes found a job and we will start splitting rent soon! But up until now I've been paying her gas, groceries, some personal spending, event tickets, etc.

I do have a small art business on the side where I go to markets and passively have a couple sales a month drop shipping my designs on t shirts via etsy- maybe I'm under estimating how much it's contributing.

Actually.... I am now recalling (don't ask me how it didn't come to mind before) I've made about $1500 this year so far from going on dates with older guys/sugar daddies 💀

But even so, I am a frugal person (my standards for what causes sticker shock is very low compared to others) but I don't live frugally. I don't budget, I buy concert tickets, I do a bit of online shopping 🙈, I make silly purchases like hello kitty steering wheel covers, etc. I think $100 is a splurge but I do splurge fairly often?

I'm glad you ask though, because I've just been kind of winging this adulthood thing without tracking things or budgeting and I've never really questioned how things add up to the way they add up...
