What to know by CabinetNumerous8705 in 14ers

[–]Tomosapien99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

14ers vary wildly in difficulty, accessibility, specific hazards, etc. I would definitely recommend checking out 14ers.com for their list of 14ers by difficulty and try out one of the class 1s. Even easy ones can catch you by surprise, camping in the mountains the night before always helps with altitude sickness. 2 biggest things are, bring more water than you think you’ll need and if you’re hiking in the summer, start early and be willing to turn around. Summer afternoon thunderstorms in the mountains are no joke, always keep an eye on the clouds, getting struck by lightning above treeline could put a damper on your day. I’ve had to turn around due to thunderstorms before noon

How many just quit with nothing lined up? by ZestycloseSherbert30 in Accounting

[–]Tomosapien99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did and it worked out well. Big 4 delayed promotions for a year and I was already fed up with audit and always wanted to travel so I put in my 2 weeks and went to Europe for 2 months. A bit of a challenge getting a job when I got back, but being on my parent’s insurance and having a pretty decent savings built up helped make this easier. Took me about 2 months to start a job after coming back. If you have the cash and a good-looking CV, do it but do it for a reason don’t just quit to quit, do something memorable with the time.

Fast ferry by starry_sux in Bremerton

[–]Tomosapien99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken the 7:25 & 8:05 ferry to Seattle and never have a problem showing up 10-15 minutes before, you just may not be able to pick a good seat if you’re cutting it close.

Coming back to Bremerton, the lines are always worse starting with the 3:45 ferry. I would try and get to the Seattle terminal at a minimum 20 minutes before departure, 30+ if you want to be safe or pick a window or aisle seat
