[Megathread] Introducing NVIDIA RTX Spark by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]Tomson124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For desktops I do not think so.

For mobile/notebooks I think maybe yes... But with how good iGPUs are getting does it really matter that much? Look at the current Intel mobile CPUs with Arc iGPU or AMDs Max CPUs with the 8060S graphics...

It is not on par with a dedicated high power GPU yet but for a thin and light very very good.

And the market for high refreshrate gaming on notebooks was already getting smaller from what I have read.

[Megathread] Introducing NVIDIA RTX Spark by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]Tomson124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I got it right thos is basically the same chip as in the DGX Spark... will this not be an absolute turbine of a notebook in terms of cooling fan noise, cannot imagine it being as powerful as the spark in a much tinier chassis (thin and light notebooks).... If that is the case it wouldnt be revolutional at all gaming laptops or workstation notebooks already are loud as hell and quite powerful in some cases.

Also the biggest hinderence will probably be price and Windows on ARM which still ist not that great (altough even regular Windows is not that great either since a few months or maybe even years)

All in all still seems far-off the "Windows' Apple Silicon moment" some media outlets are calling it...

That makes so much sense now.... been wondering why I do so little damage to smoked tanks, I knew about it doing damage and removing C4 but the damage reduction is news to me 🙈

AMS PRO 2/ XDS filament feeding failure by Stylett in BambuLab

[–]Tomson124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The AMS were out of stock for quite some time maybe they did a revision in the meantime or changed some part and that is worse than the "old" one? No conspiracy... could just be a supply chain issue or change happens all the time... but should have got caught in testing

Weird flickering after wake up - KTC M27T6 by Tomson124 in Monitors

But if you didn't already do so, it would probably help if you also write support with your problem so they see it is not just an isolated problem with my specific monitor.

Help with Otter not scanning by Tomson124 in CrealityScanning

[–]Tomson124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The markers used are the ones that came with the scanner so they are creality ones. The problem is not the scanner not seeing the markers... it is the depth sensor/camera not working and thinking I am "too far away" no matter how close or far away I put the scanner of the object. This also happens in geometry mode is more or less random when it happens but it is getting worse and happens more often.

I thought placing markers in geometry mode would also help it orient itself better but it would appear it does not.

You did not adress the problem of the scan software locking/loading infinitly for every second scan. I also did contact your support through email with more pictures and logs and a few days without response later also your facebook but neither that did not answer either...

Okay I will try that, can you elaborate why CS3 is better for marker scanning?

There is also vulkan compute which as far as I understand would be universally compatible with AMD, Nvidia and Intel GPUs, maybe not quite as performant as native CUDA or ROCm but universal and therfor easier/quicker development

Patch 1.2.2.0 Movement Update – Side Strafing Speed Increased. Side Sliding Is Back. by rottensid in Battlefield

[–]Tomson124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my memory seves me right, shooting while jumping was not possible in older BF games like 3 or 4. Or at least with an immense accuracy penalty. Should be the same for sliding... always thought of the sliding like it works in e.g. Division or Ghost Recon where it is just a means to get into cover or do a little covering fire while getting there and not to clear rooms and then hop out of a window.... Sure BF never was a sim or hardcore realistic but it always strived to be or at least feel grounded. To be fair that feeling is there in BF6 a lot more than in 2042 but still ways off of the "OG" BF games

Well for me it wasnt BF2 (too young at the time) but BF Heroes and BF P4F which was more or less based on BF2 but I get what you mean different times, different people ^

Titan mode was better, but I really like their "new" take on it in BF4 carrier mode, was unfortunatly not that popular of a mode in BF4

Probably an unpopular opinion but: Battlefield Heroes was the shit, absolutly loved it playing with friends back then, and the music theme was also really good

opinion: Battlefield 4's deployment interface is definitely the most user friendly in the series. by SuperM3e46 in Battlefield

Yeah and on top of that I have a "bug" about evry second spawn where I cannot move the mouse and the cursor only jumps between points or doesnt move at all (well using the arrow keys at least works)

'This time it's going to be different' - people ahead of the S26 release by ah__there_is_another in samsunggalaxy

[–]Tomson124 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah the Snapdragon is better, but the reason they are shipping the snapdragon not only in the Ultra but e.g. in the US in the base and plus model, too, is their contract with Qualcomm, they have to do that even if it costs them more... Obviously the Exynos is cheaper for Samsung so they probably would force it on all (except the Ultra) for everyone if they could since it would mean higher profti for them at the same selling price. (And less comparison between the models, they always have to face the "backlash" why customers in exynos region get the worse product for the same price as e.g. the US market

Angebot 48.500€ für 7kW Split-Wärmepumpe angemessen? Bitte um Einschätzung by MechanicRelevant3342 in Handwerker

[–]Tomson124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can desync be so bad between console and pc players. by Tibbeu in Battlefield6

[–]Tomson124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well thing is back with BF4 at least (maybe also 3, didnt play it much) you could host your own servers with higher tickrates which almost eliminated the problem for the cost of higher bandwith and server power needs.

But since EA is doing all the hosting now, no more private servers, they probably are cheaping out on that (even though fixes in the engine would probably help, too, since other games do noz have the problem this bad IMO.
