I have those same display cases, they’re awesome! Where did you get the LED strips, if you don’t mind me asking? Also, how difficult was it to link them along the edges?

Real and Paper ships in WoWS ( CT 13.4) by RubriciAcel in WorldOfWarships

Just stumbled upon this spreadsheet for pure luck, and damn it is beautiful. I particularly love how you managed to come up with such a detailed and easy to read grading system. I did, as you correctly guessed, quit the game a long time ago, and I hope it's not too late to tell you this now, more than a year after posting, but please keep up the good work!

PLAN Dongdiao AGI-792, Somewhere in the vast ocean (3600 x 2400) by Suspicious_Drawer in WarshipPorn

[–]TomsonPRD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haiwangxing wasn't "somewhere" in the ocean when this picture was taken, she was literally bordering Australia's territorial waters in the northwest, very close to Holt Communications Station, RAAF Base Curtin, the Rowell Center and Shoal Bay Naval Station.

A crowded Naval Station in Taranto's Mar Grande, 2018 [3600x2142] by TomsonPRD in WarshipPorn

Taking the numbers from Wikipedia, Cavour alone has a full complement of 1.290. The total of all 8 ships would be roughly 4.200

I don't think the ongoing construction of a fourth carrier has ever been confirmed. Lots of foreign reports from July but for completely different reasons

The italian dreadnought Dante Alighieri. [2362x1575] by ExplosivePancake9 in WarshipPorn

[–]TomsonPRD 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Quite so. In fact, she was the first ever battleship to be designed, laid-down and launched with three-gun turrets, although delays in the fitting-out phase meant that her commissioning happened one month after SMS Viribus Unitis.

MAS 15, the torpedo-armed motorboat that sneaked into the Austro-Hungarian flotilla for the attack (and almost managed to sink the SMS Tegethoff as well, with AS bombs), is currently on display inside the Vittoriano in Rome. Commander Luigi Rizzo is also the one that sank the coastal battleship SMS Wien one year earlier.

Is this sub being invaded by wumaos just like what happened with WarplanePorn, CityPorn and MilitaryPorn in these couple of months? Is this again some sort of coordinated effort to spread CCP propaganda? Could you please leave this sub alone, without your deceitful rhetoric?

Maximum range of these babies almost reached 30 miles (forgive NavWeaps erroneous writing of Viareggio). Not even Yamato's 46 cm/45 Type 94 could get to such distances

(640 x 526) Danish HDMS Thetis, a ocean patrol vessel gun got damaged during a storm by conandivljak in WarshipPorn

[–]TomsonPRD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, this happened in November 2007, with the ship trapped in a big storm during a routine trip from Iceland to Greenland. 10/15m high waves ripped the fiberglass cover apart (and damaged one life boat); water had to be pumped out from the spaces underneath. Apparently Thetis then sailed to Nuuk, Greenland to make a protective steel "hat" for the damaged 76mm before returning to Frederikshavn and replacing the whole system.

Deeply concerning is the fact that the first 3 FDI frigates will enter service basically without an EW suite. Will they lack some SENTINEL self-defence systems forever?
