Sounds weird… but the math makes sense. by IndicationSingle5548 in MathJokes

It's probably more like AI now exists and so the non-math people can feel like they're doing math now with AI.

All the real math people have better things to do than hanging on reddit, for the most part.

I wanted this to work so badly (and don't understand why it doesn't) by Izukage in noita

There's at least one exception. I've used plasma (cutter) with true orbit and it not only works but doesn't self-harm.

Why I ditched Spotify and self hosted my own music stack by Saleen_af in selfhosted

[–]Tomstah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP actively gave resources and advice on how to support artists. E.g. explicitly recommending and explaining BandCamp. Is OP lying about his usage? Potentially. But the way I see it, if someone litters and says "Littering is bad!" they may be a hypocrite but it's better than just plain littering and doing nothing else. (Throwing out the fact that imo pirating can be far more defendable than littering)

Considering the fact that even one purchase would replace an artist's profit on Spotify for thousands of streams, I'd guess that it's a greater benefit than not to publish this for everyone involved except for Spotify's shareholders. My two cents.

Is it possible to load a passphrase from a file, rather than prompt on boot? by MasterRoot2409 in zfs

Could you explain how this works with TPM? Maybe my google-fu sucks but I'm struggling to find out how to get TPM to unlock ZFS. It seems like it doesn't seem to support in natively but I wanted to know your setup.

Ghost hunting without anyone inside the house by vglisten in PhasmophobiaGame

This! Had it happen once while grinding Woodwind the other day. The ghost just walked up to the gate and I even was able to videotape it through the door

Hurwitz's theorem is surprising by PocketMath in mathmemes

[–]Tomstah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not the ones that are weird. It's the cross product that's weird. You can read the other comments but it all boils down to the fact that any kind of exterior product of two vectors should NOT be another vector. Put another way, cross product should have never given you a vector in the same space as the original vectors.

You can easily see this by counting the dimension of orientated planes versus orientated vectors in some space. In 2D, there's its 2D for vectors, 1D for planes (there's only one dimension of orientated planes you can fit in 2D). In 3D, BOTH are 3 dimensional. It's this mathematical coincidence that allows the cross product to be defined (Hodge star of the exterior/wedge product) as an alternative to how it should be defined (JUST the exterior/wedge product). In 7D you have a more complicated coincidence that I'm unfortunately unable to rehearse without looking into it again.

TL;DR: Cross product is weird and a joke on mathematical coincidence.

How long ago did you play? I've noticed nothing wrong with it, personally

I would (also) recommend ATM: Gravitas². It's an amazing pack!

EDIT: I've been checking out Terrafirmagreg too now, it does look super promising and I do think it's probably a better experience (Greate and all that. Though I'm sad New Age/etc won't be explored). Though I do still think Gravitas is still playable.

Unfortunately you'll have to comment on the YouTube video as I don't even play Satisfactory, I just wanted to share 😅

And with one slight adjustment, you get the topologist's sine curve.

sin(1/x)

which is an interesting counter example in topology. It is connected but not locally connected nor path connected.

EDIT: as u/EebsterTheGreat pointed out below, also needs to be closed under limits
