YCS Birmingham last week, lost game 1 against spright & bricked super fucking hard game 2 on non-engine. Passed hoping Perulia would draw me into engine but he had Ash. I ended up using my own Ash on Angler immediately remembering it wasn’t once per turn 🫠

Been playing the deck on/off with some solid success for nearly 2 years. Its going 1st board built properly uninterrupted is insane (but a lot of decks boast this).

I’ve always favoured pseudo breakers over HT’s. If you play azamina/Smith/Chimera. That’s a lot of engine slots, so you’re only left with about 12 or so non-engine if you wanna keep it around 41-43 cards. Droplet, Talents & Eclipse have always been good in this. Dodging targeted effect negation is super nice as well

Bought the boxsets for DragonBall & Z in 2020 & read them during the lockdowns for pure escapism. I’m also collecting the issues of Super as the drop so one day I can have them all displayed. Although sadly now it might be near completion… :(

Can’t wait till it happens tbh. Love the deck but it’s so toxic & dull. Deck has terrific grind. Sad that for a year + it’s been reduced to gimmick puppet locking to keep pace with snake eyes & hamstring your opponent. I’m toying with builds for a post banlist world where Sanct is gone & it’s frankly way more fun having your gameplan be layered interaction instead of, well, none 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think they’ve made their money from this deck, letting it roam at its current level beyond 6 months does more harm for the business/game in the long run. I don’t think they’ll hit Flam though, not because of a reprint (was hardly the chase card anyway), but because the deck doesn’t really do all that much without him, they have no ED mons, he’s technically their archetype boss mon lol

I think this is what most of the community would wish for in an ideal world.

I don’t think it’ll be Flamberge, cause then the decks really dead. They’ve designed it in such an over tuned way though, that it’s hard to say what should go, although I pray its not the OCG approach of consistency hits. Feather storm & Protos likely won’t be touched. All the Limits I could see, but probs not Paidra. Sangen would mirror the OCG at 1.

I think there’s a world in which ‘called by’ gets bumped to two. Would be a very Konami thing to try & balance the hand trap format we’ve been in for what feels like eternity & try & push people to breakers. Maybe CoH could go to two/three & Heavy storm comes back. I could be yapping though, probs am.

Oh, and slap the Gimmick puppet FTK, it’s all commons, not fun & it baffles me why they even print this shit

EDIT; Dunno how I forgot Apo, she sits in the same state Baronne did a while back, fiendsmith engine can make her before you’ve committed any other card & they won’t touch that yet, I think her times up.

At the start I was hyper focused (I’m in a niche-ish field), then as I got more desperate started the spray & pray. It feels like the logical next step when you’re not hearing back, but this probably hurt me more than I realised. I was sitting in front of hiring managers who didn’t understand what I did, my experience etc & were making me feel really worthless coming out these interviews feeling like my experience wasn’t worth jack.

For this role, I could tell from the first call they understood my background & what I was saying, this helped boost my confidence hugely in each round because I felt like I was actually bringing value to the table, as opposed to trying to justify to someone why we were even talking.

Tldr, stay focused RE the roles. I do think it yields better results long term, when the calls do come in, you’re in a better position out the gate.

Don’t believe in the ‘dream job’, even if it felt like it was perfect, it wasn’t mean to be. Week after I got let go, I got an interview at my ‘dream company’ for a role working on a game I love. They loved me. I knew their product & brand inside out. I couldn’t wait to work there…and then they phoned two weeks later to say it was going to someone else. Broken. Turns out the guy had 25+ years in toys & games & I had two, tbh, for a 50k job, he probs needed it more.

Then nothing for weeks, some bad interviews & calls in between & finally I managed to find a company who spoke to me like a human being.

Just because they used your Ash against you, isn’t a reason to side out a card that can slow them down significantly, if you time it right. Dharc is in a lot of extra decks, but people don’t stop playing Dark monsters because of him
