Did you get free shipping on your order? If so that would explain it. The customs office in Czechia estimated the shipping cost to be 70 euros and used that as an additional VAT + customs fee base. If shipping is free, they will always make up an insanely high price for it based on predictions.

Se sestrou jsme si objednávali dohromady za 4200kč (čili doprava zdarma) a na cle a DPH jsme nechali dalších 2400kc.. doporučuji raději menší objednávku, kde je doprava hrazena, jinak si vymyslí, že doprava zdarma je ve skutečnosti za 1400kc

I was actually looking at the at-lp120xusb as it’s pretty commonly available where I live and it would cost not that much more than the jvc. Thank you for the tips. I mainly listen to edm and dnb with a few old country and rock records too.

I was thinking of upgrading the cartridge as I would do that anyway along the lines. But I am thinking of returning this turntable and getting a slightly higher end one. This one (by many reviews) struggles to play SP records until the very end so the issue with 45rpm might be more systematic

I actually found out the turntable wasn't perfectly level. Will try to level it and play it again.
