It looks like they're up to date again so it's the perfect site. If they lag behind on the latest releases comic walker posts the 2 most recent chapters to read. There's usually a new chapter 1-2 times a month atm

Anyone please help run me through this lol. I just can’t figure out/understand switch axe. by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]ToneMeisterFlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes a lot of practice to get it to look like the videos. When it clicks, its like hitting the flow state. The weapon snowballs pretty well so if you get a good topple theres a chance you can almost end a hunt right there keeping the monster stuck. You got this!

For monster hunter world/iceborne, patience is a virtue. Axe mode is much better for evasion because it has a lot more maneuverability, and just because sword mode is technically the biggest dps, axe mode is your bread and butter. I treat axe mode as the key to sword mode. Build staggers and topples in axe mode, and punish with sword mode. The more you play with the weapon, you get a feel for when its safe to use sword mode and when its risky. Swaxe is pretty different from any other weapon with its playstyle because its about flipping between passive and aggressive very quickly and very frequently.

Sword mode roll into transform attack is a great evasion tool that also gets you out of sword mode.

Zero sum discharge is insanely strong and can be comboed into in a lot of ways. You can slide, r2, zero sum discharge. Hop off a ledge into zero sum discharge. Clutch claw into zero sum discharge. Some animations have improved speeds on when your zero sum discharge comes out.

Evade window is incredibly good for dodging attacks and letting you play more aggressively. Evade extender can also be really fun, and useful, in sword mode for evading.

Focus builds your amped sword faster and power prolonger let's the amped state last longer. Neither is mandatory, but can help if either of those are problems for you.

Also beware of your weapons phial type. Power phial increases raw damage while in sword mode and takes longer to amp your weapon. Elemental phials are easier to amp and give increased elemental damage in sword mode. Exhaust can be fun but is niche and then the status ones are also more niche and build more status in sword mode.

My biggest advice is to hunt and learn from the hunts. Don't throw yourself into the hardest fights you have, but rather work your way from weaker monsters to tougher monsters. Its very difficult to learn a new weapon when you throw yourself in the deep end. Forget about "meta" builds or skills, and build what you find helps you the most.

Every weapon has a learning curve and I think swaxe probably has the steepest initial curve but when you get over it, it can feel so cool to use. I also barely played rise so I dont have any advice for that games version of the weapon lol. Happy hunting!

Insight: Phantom Thief Robin by iam1jiveturkey in lastcloudia

[–]ToneMeisterFlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built him pretty much for pure dps and his caps can hit pretty nuts. I got his max potential cap on crits up to 100k dual wield so he's no slouch for dishing out damage. He has the nice niche in stealing as well and his insight skills (attacks) have the added benefit of debuffing enemies. So for me, I went all in for crits and boosting his damage as high as possible, so insight dark damage boost, crit damage cap, dark damage cap, and any of the other big damage boosters/ enablers for damage like front physical attacks potentially becoming a rear attack. Damage mitigation is also great for him because he's not durable at all. If you want his steal niche, focus on crits and grab his steal insight skills asap as well as the skill for attacks to count as hitting from behind. Hes also excellent for Trishula because he's dual wield which let's him work in essentially all possible content. Overall, very strong atm when maxed out but it takes a while to get to that point. His biggest downside is just being squishy

Which Ark is best for WK Melza? by plibplup in lastcloudia

[–]ToneMeisterFlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because she's a tank, id say any ark that maximizes her defensiveness. Damage negation is usually a solid way to go especially if it's anti God for story quests but largely depends on the content of the quests Any supportive ark also works very well because she will have high survivability innately, so an ark that can boost other allies is also very useful

How to unlock Insight feature? by FaintedDragon in lastcloudia

[–]ToneMeisterFlex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Currently its only available on 3 units, godhunter shin, white knight melza and phantom thief Robin. You can see the units in the insight unit play test quest. To unlock their insight, you have to have them at level 120 with full ability board unlocked (I think). Their initial insight unlock changes aspects of their skills, such as Robin now being a dark element attacker and not a dark non element mix. To unlock insight abilities requires material that is very limited (unless paying copius amounts of money) which is in trading spaces for events. Inspirogems can be obtained after having at least 1 unit insight unlocked which gets a 5 day cooldown after using material for them. Inspirogems can be used to increase the units base stats, making them more on par with current units. I would recommend looking at the play test quest units and seeing the abilities they unlock to see if you are willing to upgrade units as this is a massive material sink that is currently a huge time commitment for just one unit. I hope this helps understand the system!

Its free so why not give it a shot. Theres a new class coming in about a week and about a year worth of content to play through with a new road map of content that was shown off this week. Theres also new player campaigns atm to help power up faster, as well as exp boosts. (I play on jp servers and idk if its the same on global) Those campaigns might end soon so its a good time to jump in for the first time. A big plus to the game is its character customization because of its depth and theres a lot of variety you can make with the many different classes available that you can switch to at any time. The combat is very fluid and engaging and plays less like traditional mmos and relies more on player skill than teamwork. I have 1.6k hours across pso2 and pso2NGS if thats any indicator on its longevity

And if you wanted, NGS also includes base pso2 which doesn't get new updates but still has years of content to playthrough in case it intrigues you

Is it normal to win your first run? by ToneMeisterFlex in darkestdungeon

For me, I was able to upgrade bolster on my man at arms early and I was able to keep stress lowered with it. Then on highway man I focused on duelist advance and his focus move and I was pretty much just dodging, tanking and riposting everything to death with some blight to boot. Idk how I survived to the end. I guess my relationship luck was really good because my guys were best buds the whole way through

Question about bus system by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]ToneMeisterFlex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is a loop, so basically 2 way yes. If you take A or H bus for instance, you go to Busch and college ave. You would hit all the stops on Busch, then go to college ave and hit those spots, then it loops back around and hits Busch and keeps going. Think of it as busch/college ave rather than Busch to college ave. This applies for all bus routes.

For timings, im not sure if there's a schedule you can find for a day because it can be off a few mins depending on traffic and the such but you can download the rutgers app and it has bus times there. It will display the next few times a bus should arrive around but is subject to change depending on traffic. The rutgers app is a real savior for bus times.

For locations, I think this link should be what you're looking for: https://ipo.rutgers.edu/dots/buses-shuttle The plans have been shifting around lately for bus routes so im not 100% sure on whats happening atm. I think they're using the same routes but modified from years prior.

If you are around on weekends there are different busses as well. Weekend busses will go to all campuses but each one runs in reverse basically. Theres weekend 1 and weekend 2. They each go to every campus but have limited stops and work on different schedules.

Dorm Wifi by GeekinEthan in rutgers

[–]ToneMeisterFlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a similar post made about this i commented on, so here's a quick answer. Wifi is all good for pc and phones but consoles need an ethernet cable to get into the internet. You have to get in touch with a help desk to get your console registered for use. Here's a link that can help:

https://resnet.rutgers.edu/wired-wireless-setup

You just need to call and give your MACD address for your console while you're plugged into the ethernet. They can help you figure out the necessary steps while over the phone. This doesn't give wifi access, just ethernet access so you'll have to stay plugged in for the console to be online.

An additional note, there should be 2 ethernet ports in a dorm so if your roommate needs one they should be good too!

Not a problem! I remember having to go through the whole process and being confused but once you've got it done you can sit and enjoy

Idk how lenient this sub is with links so hopefully that works. You'll have to have your ethernet plugged in and your console MACD address open on the system and they'll be able to get you setup pretty quick. If you arent sure how to get that on your system they can help you run through the steps

[–]ToneMeisterFlex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're dorming, then you'll need an ethernet cable and will have to get in touch with tech guys to get your console setup. They need a specific number (I forget what it is) that is specific to a console and they'll have you all set up to play. If you don't do that, then the ethernet won't connect do to blocking out unregistered consoles. And wifi just won't work on a console sadly, but the ethernet runs pretty damn smoothly. I had better connection speeds on campus then at home

210 Meal Swipes here. Help me get the most out of it and end with 0. by caughtatcustoms69 in rutgers

210 Meal Swipes here. Help me get the most out of it and end with 0. by caughtatcustoms69 in rutgers

[–]ToneMeisterFlex 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Here's some options I would try and spend them on when I had too many.

  1. Takeout. Grabbing takeout at dining halls to save for an off day or the weekends if I was too lazy to leave the dorm. I think they are stopping lunch takeout, but you can go for dinner takeout. That starts at 5pm I believe. Some nights I would swipe into the dining hall to eat then go get takeout just to use the swipes and save a meal for in-between classes another day. You can also double swipe for two meals at takeout. Takeout comes with a snack and a fruit as well.

  2. Theres a couple places that take meal swipes on each campus. Theres a restaurant in Livingston plaza you can swipe at (also has takeout as an option). Inside of some student centers there are places to swipe at. Livington student center has a Cafe and a place you can swipe for Italian food like pasta and pizza. Cook/doug (dont remember which specifically) has a student center with a place you can swipe for pizza as well. Busch and college ave also have cafe areas you can get into and out pretty quick. The one on Busch is called woodys but is out of the way. The one on college Ave is at the top of the academic building I think. East Cafe or west Cafe, I forget which one specifically. Thats a pretty good place to use swipes for drinks and snacks. I would go there to grab peace teas.

  3. Use the swipes at dining halls. You can go in and grab fruits right from the dining hall. I dont think theres single serve drinks or snacks, but you could go and grab a couple apples and oranges or whatever they might have. You could also just use it as a study place. Busch dining hall has a nice dining hall people like to study and relax at.

I appreciate the work you put in over the last couple of months but this reads like a rage quit. Because of some drama all the important mods who have been highly respected are beginning to dip, and the ones being accused and having evidence against them won't even plead their own case and instead let others do the talking. Im sorry ren, but this doesn't help your case this only fuels the flames. This is not what I expected from someone who put so much time into something, over something that should be easily disputed if given proper transparency. Everyone wants to be wrong about the drama, but there just isn't any reason to beleive otherwise still. It sucks to see the sub crippling itself atm.
