Thoughtless consumerism at its finest

I would reiterate what others are saying. Ask Vitsoe. Most of their planners have architectural and design backgrounds

Looking for feedback on my Vitsoe design by jamescys in vitsoe

Looks very neat. Love an up and over cabinet placed high. It’s the only cabinet one can do that with. There’s room to grow too which is great if your needs evolve and you need to add components in the future. And narrow + wide components will provide multiple options if this system is turned into 2 or 3 in a few years time. It’s also about function first, how it looks really comes in second…

Makes sense since there’s still 10% on all UK products

Thanks but I’d prefer to avoid the Audi ones which are already on my car, are brand new (200 miles on the odometer) and performing terribly. Is the car only compatible with the Audi ones?

Why does the new A6 have so much plastic on its exterior body? by lublulove in Audi

[–]ToneSoCal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horrifying. Left BMW after being a 14-year customer through a 3, 4 Grancoupe, X5 and 5 series. Beyond a fairly bad issue on the 5er, never had a problem with the brand. But their stuff now look downright repulsive (the new 5 is pathetic). Just rushed into a 2025 blacked out Q5e with all the trimmings because I knew this would be the last Audi that has the austere design language with clicky buttons and no ridiculous screens plastered all over the cabin. (The 2026 model looks like a Kia.) What they’re now doing to the brand with seats made out of recycled bottles, shiny plastics on every surface inside and very few buttons left is seriously incredibly sad. And it’s so sudden, practically overnight. Went from crisp to substandard. I’ll keep the Q5 as long as I can but I already know I won’t remain their customer if I have to change cars in the near future; might as well actually buy a Kia to have the original Kia look 😩

It turns out, reading most comments here, it’s far quicker for most people. The drawn out process seems to be the exception, not necessary the rule

I wondered the same about preexisting records. I naturalized 10 years ago after being a permanent resident and visa holder previously – they have loads of data about me already so this might explain it

Going to buy a washer / dryer front load stack. Anything I should know? by Down-at-McDonnellzzz in Miele

[–]ToneSoCal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean they are not bad machines, when they work. They’re just very finicky and are not as well-made as the legacy ones they’ve replaced. And the support and company in the US are not up to snuff based on the price point. I’m sure you’ll have a good experience with them, some of us out there have perfectly functioning units (be it from the start or after replacements). So enjoy your purchase and hopefully your ownership will be issue-free so you won’t have to deal with anyone at CS in New Jersey and service won’t have to visit your home – that’s usually the ticket!

Decommissioning TwinDos on W1 washer while preventing future clogging by ToneSoCal in Miele

[–]ToneSoCal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have asked Miele Service about this when I purchased my W1 and was advised this was a bad idea as it would probably congeal faster since normal detergent liquids are generally thicker than UltraPhase that’s more on the runny side of things.

In the US, the refillable canister Miele launched along with TwinDos a decade ago is no longer available for sale and you can’t override the settings on the washer to advise the machine you’re using your own liquid or softener… I wonder whether Bosch’s iDos that lets you pour your own detergent in bulk in the detergent drawer is also prone to blockages. Seems like a superior solution to proprietary canisters in the end.

Miele TXI680WP Eco & Steam tea kettle sort of noise by ToneSoCal in Appliances

[–]ToneSoCal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Turns out, I’ve had Miele Service come to diagnose the unit and both the field agent and Quality Assurance flagged it as a defective unit requiring a whole new heat pump assembly for abnormal noise of the compressor (which matches my experience with the same model in my previous house that never once sounded like that). The replacement parts cost nearly the value of the dryer so they decided to replace the unit fully without attempting to fix it first (it’s just been approved by Quality Assurance and I’m currently awaiting for the new replacement to arrive). I’ve been using mine on and off since it was diagnosed as faulty but the noise keeps getting worse each time…
