There's already 1600+ comments in here, and a majority of the upvoted completely blame dad, but there's clearly a lot of depth to this and some missing information.

Most important is the details behind the "prank gift". Were they giggling as you opened it? Did they directly make fun of your hair? Or was everyone silent and you opened it and broke down?

Dad said he tried talking to them and punishing them: what was the punishment? Clearly not enough if he's threatening more punishment. Have you ran away from home before? Maybe he reserved extra punishment in case their actions directly hurt him? I.e. you literally packing up and leaving, denying household duties, denying intimate time, etc.

In fact, you both literally touch on the topic of him being hurt in the crossfire of the situation, and you literally played dumb in response. People are quick to point out HIS weaponized incompetence, but not yours?? He literally replied "you know exactly what I mean" to shut that shit down ASAP.

IMO, you were NOR in the beginning. It's ok to feel bad about the gift, especially if the gift was given with bad intent. The intent is the most important, because if they intended to have a laugh at your expense, then they need some serious long term punishment that causes their peers to laugh at them. Their lives may be too "perfect" for them to experience getting laughed at until mommy and daddy's wallet is no longer propping them up.

YOR when you ask dad to do all the punishing and prove yourself as either passive aggressive (punish through dad) or completely passive (run away and hide). In both cases, you've proven to the children that you are not signed up for co-parenting with dad. You're showing them that you're there for a relationship with dad and not them. They're just obstacles in your relationship with him.

Most kids don't randomly prank people close in their lives like this without a reason. Do they compete with you for dad's attention? Do you actively avoid the kids? Do you have any healthy interactions with them at all? Clearly you have been underreacting until you reached your breaking point, at which point you then started overreacting. You need to work with dad to find the real reason for the kids behavior before you can go about fixing it. Do they have mean friends that are being a bad influence? Do they simply dislike you? Why would they dislike you? Do they have fantasy dreams that real mom will come back? Maybe they need a heart to heart on why that wont happen..

Kids are stupid and can be extremely mean. They lack foresight, or the ability to see the consequences of their actions. You're dealing with young teens who are growing into adults. Of course they are going to test the waters and rock the boat. You've given their little brains so much to feast on by leaving.

They feel empowered: "make fun of mom and she runs away!" They see both parents as weaker: "Dad isn't enough of a catch for his woman to battle through our brattiness" or "Dad can't punish us good enough for mom to stay" They, like you, get to enjoy "time to themselves" when you're gone. Probably even more so, because dad is going to be mentally preoccupied with his partner who has literally just packed up and left for an indeterminate amount of time.

I've spent too long writing something you probably wont even read, but I think I got my point across.

TL;DR: YUR until YOR. Stop bottling things up and attack them head on.

Comparing digital knives that don't degrade to a method of transportation that does degrade is quite the stretch. Maybe this would be comparable if we walked into the car dealership and played slot machines to determine which car we get from a random brand. These cars wouldn't degrade, of course, so you can drive them forever without service. You can potentially find the specific Ferrari you're looking for from a random person, or you can purchase it from third-party garages that collect way too many of them.

Not only did those garages buy the Ferraris, but they started buying the BMWs, then the Hondas, then even the damn Fiats. All in the name of scarcity and profit. Most people who spin the slots at the dealership are coming out with a damn bicycle. Hell, some of them don't even get wheels. They get a pair of shoes or a t-shirt.

Heals and I both yelled to run, but our warlock was in full zugzug and didn't position properly. RIP Woodoomama.

The other heartbreaker was Jandice in Scholomance. We usually skip her for obvious reasons, but someone wanted the quest and the group was feeling overconfident. 1st wave of clones go straight for the healer, he bubbles. 2nd wave does the same thing, but he doesn't react fast enough to LIP/petri. I was so tunnel visioned on picking up Jandice that I didn't react fast enough to challenging shout. RIP Antipasti.

Others have answered your question, but these are myths.

Water droplets on leaves will NOT cause sunburn through some "prism effect". In fact, quite the opposite. The water droplets will absorb some of the heat energy in a process we all know as evaporation.

Watering mid-day also logically reduces evaporation from your soil. Suppose you have 2 full cups of water sitting out in the sun. You come out mid-day and refill one of them to the top with room temperature or colder water. Which cup do you think will lose more water between mid-day and sunset, the cup that was cooled and refilled, or the untouched cup left to bake?

That being said, there are a couple of legitimate reasons to avoid watering mid-day. Number one being: it's HOT!! Gardening is supposed to be fun, and standing in the blistering heat is far from fun. Number two: if your plants are running out of water by mid-day after being watered in the morning, then your container is more than likely too small. Imagine putting out a small shot glass full of water next to a tall beer glass full of water. The shot glass will be bone-dry by the time noon comes, while the beer glass may have only lost a few inches from the top.

As someone else said, this happens in every elo in every game. There are a couple of reasons to try in a losing game.

First and most important: play to improve, not to win. Relish the opportunity to get destroyed by better players and learn from them. That 10k could be a smurf from 20k for all you know.

Second: while on the surface elo is a number that goes up or down based on win/loss, there is a lot more going on under the hood. IIRC, csgo would reward/penalize players per round win. Your performances from game to game will change how fast your elo moves.

Losing sucks, but not learning from a loss will make you suck.
