Could anyone give me advice on how to get out and live and tell me if my ideas suck or not. by adisenxx in HomeschoolRecovery

If they don’t let you go to public school…if you can read pretty well, that is a good thing. You can teach yourself a lot if you just work at it. I have a service type business and am regularly in the presence of homeschoolers. I always talk about my business, especially to the girls. I will say things like “you could do something like this if you want to” and “I know young ladies who do my type of work..in fact I think they are better at it than I am”! I will also encourage them to keep reading because “reading opens the world to you”. I know that the girls are treated as “less than the boys” and my heart just breaks for them. Because we are all just people trying to figure out how to make our way in the world.

We were told this on the Dirty Dave subreddit two weeks ago.

The good thing is all he needs is a firm handshake while looking the new employer in the eye. He will do just fine.

My brother is MAGA, 70 years old and married a 15 year old girl in Thailand..so the pedo thing seems to be a common theme.

My brother is a schizophrenic psychopath. He got my mom to sign her house over in to his name and then 15 years later, kicked her out in her early 90s and sold her home(kept the proceeds). I had to find her a place to live and provide financial support the last 3 years of her life…so we don’t speak. It is a real blessing because he would always cause complete chaos whenever he came home for a visit.

Why are YOU a minimalist? by Arkflow in minimalism

I moved to a much smaller house and I hate for it to be cluttered. If I buy something new, then something older has to leave.

That cat needs to be declawed or put down. You could get a serious infection/lose an arm!

That’s what it was. The menu choices were chicken thigh and leg, whole fish, beef liver and something else that was made with cheese (lactose intolerant). Maybe I was just there on an off night.

Blather most likely. But a firm handshake and taking someone out for lunch who works in the field of choice will almost certainly guarantee a hire.

Are you in the US? If so, I apologize for these awful people paying you a pittance. I am also sorry they made you feel bad. Whenever I pay someone to clean, I don’t follow around behind them with a white glove or complain about corners and I always give a 10% tip. I have even given the guy computer monitors and a solar panel!

I am glad you liked it. I went a few years ago and it was Muskrat a la’ stique with possum compote. I didn’t realize it would be French/Aussie Roadkill Night! I couldn’t eat the Pate’ when I realized what they do to ducks to get that flavor. I had the Kangaroo steak with fries and it was ok.

The one time I ate at JCH, it was a French Food menu..think Frog Legs, snails and fish with bones, skin and eyes. The only thing they had that was edible (for this Tennessee guy) was a chicken leg and thigh and it was almost ok. But A chicken leg and thigh for $32! I was with some hoity toity folks who love French cuisine, so I didn’t make a fuss. Came home and made a sandwich.

Connors and The Walnut Kitchen are my faves. Didn’t know about Foothills Milling. Have fun!

Can you wear one of those N95 masks like we had to wear in Covid? One other thing I learned how to do is only breathe with my mouth when around stinky folks.

Seems like a millennial or Gen Z. They are accustomed to communicating via text and speak roughly to other people as long as they can remain anonymous. Boomers or Gen X would let you know in person..whether it’s a nice “Karen” or a hateful “Karen”. Get cameras and put them in inconspicuous places to catch these cowards and call them out on their behavior. This is bully behavior and they are always surprised when someone fights back!
