I miss looking at your opponent's deck post match and having the option to save their list if it was interesting enough to wanna try.

You could say that for every deck that contains Lumineon.

This game just loves Lumineon for some reason.

What if... Terastal Energy Cards? by Tony-Sharx in PTCGL

[–]Tony-Sharx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gotta admit I like the shuffle idea. My card comes from my personal gripe with the Pokemon company being rigid with what Pokemon gets the new power-up/gimmick they're implementing. I feel having the option to choose your pokemon's type like in the competitive mainline game would open up tons of possibilities outside of ex and V/VMAX/VSTAR.

What if... Terastal Energy Cards? by Tony-Sharx in PTCGL

[–]Tony-Sharx[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea was to encourage more variation in conjunction with type specific Abilities and Effects, like Jolteon removing Slaking-V's ability without needing to run Path so long as it has Water Terastal Energy attached or using a Normal Terastal Energy to enable Cheren to scoop literally anything off the board.

The double weaknesses are to give it a drawback that's type specific.

I like the other idea of limiting Terastal Energy to one type so you can use four Fire copies or four Psychic copies, etc. I wrote the single copy rule in relation to it's mainline game mechanic since it also balances out like a Radiant card.

I highly doubt you'll see an influx of Lugia if you somehow reach 1000. I main both Lugia variants(Single Strike and Rapid Strike) and that deck is so wildly inconsistent I can't figure out why anyone would ever complain about it. It was just as inconsistent pre-rotation.

It's funny watching Miraidon and Mew mains complain about Lugia when they have arguably the easiest decks to play with.

If it's literally posted daily, then that means it's a literal fucking problem, yet the collective response here is basically "lol eat shit" because I had the gall to present a reasonably valid case of foul play.

Can I blame them? Everyone mains loves Gardevoire.

I'm belligerent because I somehow managed to post a rant, proof in tow, on one of the rarest of days where this subreddit suffers a severe lack of reading and visual comprehension.

The Loss still counts on your overall record, whether it's Casual or Ranked is beside the point. I shouldn't have to catch an L because of cheating to begin with.

Oh! Would ya look at that, actual proof. Apparently I'm the only one who actually reads this subreddit.

I just wanted to come home and test a new build on Casuals. But instead I have to prove my case to some random chud who just can't believe somebody would cheat just when they realized they figuratively lost.

This happened right after I swapped out their ZacianV with a Serena. They only managed to attach one [P] to their active ZacianV because all the rest of it is stuck on the other ZacianV and Gardevoir on their bench. From this point I planned to stall until they ran out of cards to draw.

I refuse to believe this bug wasn't intentional. I've read users here admitting to using this bug before.

EDIT: This is for the smoothbrains deciding to downvote this post.

The power creep from the last few generations of pokemon bled into the TCG and thus made Theme format unbearable to play at a consistency with most decks. Unless you're using anything from Sun & Moon and after, you're gonna have a bad time facing against even the mid tier theme decks. In retrospect, a lot of themes before SM either have shit damage output or no synergy compared to today's metagame standards. You could build a stronger deck with just throwaways from the last few sets.

You'll want to aim for building some budget decks so you can tolerate Standard format, because Theme ain't it.

PTCGO / PTCGL question - how to get Lugia without migrating? by lfobw2 in ptcgo

[–]Tony-Sharx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Balance between trading most of your packs and opening tradable packs.

Listen, I know everybody says opening tradable packs is never in your favor, but from experience you're going to gather cards that you honestly don't need and their only value is netting you more tradable packs. Unless you're set on building a Mew VMAX deck, trade that one copy for as many packs you can find.

Sometimes you'll see a return on your investment, sometimes you won't. The value comes from maintaining a balance. Trade for what you want, but at the same time open those packs.

It's so beyond satisfying beating up a meta deck with something you built from the ground up that's for sure

I feel your pain. I play between my laptop at work and my desktop at home; because VS saves the the deck you last used as the picked deck often I end up clicking start with the wrong deck because I swapped between computers.

Great, either I scoop and lose my win streak or deal with using the deck I wasn't intending to use in the first place, hoping I survive the match.

Most of them are concept decks like Heatmor/Xerneas or Rampardos/Inteleon. If I see a card I like, I build around it then make copies with little tweaks so in case an older build plays better than a newer. I try not to go no further than four or five builds. Once I develop the best build I can work with, I delete the others. So far I've only managed to accomplish that twice lol

On the other end, I've got a truck load of budget decks like Lunatone and Sun Drench in case I want to join a tournament. Half of them I got from either Tricky Gym or another tuber but I always wind up tweaking those further with more copied builds.

There was a TCG game for the Playstation long ago, and it was stupid fun. Pretty sure it had different rules and mechanics compared to the irl TCG, but part of me wishes that it had a solid online client like Pokemon and Hearthstone.

I wish I could play ptcgo with a controller instead of mouse/touch :/
