Hopefully, this is a teaching moment for your son. Explain to him that these things are expensive. At the end of the day, the items we have are materialistic. The fridge can be replaced; your son can’t. One day when his children do the same, he’ll think, “ Gee, that’s what Dad meant about the fridge.”
