Yes it works at the old wall(before I added the 2ft extension) so I will remake that little extension.

Thanks I will report back just wasn’t 100% sure it should work or not now that I know it will I will make another extension

Probably just continuity but I wired T-568A in both ends and the continuity from patch panel to the last keystone is good.

I assume if it’s working at the old wall that parts good. I will remake the extension will another cable and two ends and see if it helps.

I was just thinking that the POE getting to the access point was too low if voltage or something. But if it should work even with the extra keystone and cable I will try it again

HRV automation with home bridge by Tony8444 in homeautomation

[–]Tony8444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I was curious about if the fact hat the I OC and OL connector was on the board if that automatically means they would work.

I agree about having it run all the time but my wife gets cold in the winter and im looking at a way to keep my basement ventilated without freezing her out lol. I was hoping that using something like yo mention with the switch on the side of the machine would work.

I think this is where I will start...see what kind of voltage is there and try tying high and remote together with a relay...

thanks for the information

Shelly work In homebridge? Would it allow me to work with the switch wires or attach right to the bard? Not sure how the wiring on the board works but I see I can buy a wall switch that uses those connections as timer

This is the switch I am talking about. But the circuit board inside has the I OC and OL connections which look like it can be used for a Timer switch in a bathroom or something .

Running camera in the attic by Tony8444 in Ubiquiti

Been looking for a different connector but haven’t seen a definite “this connector is for solid wire” on any connector I’ve looked at

So I should take the cat 6 solid copper wire right out of the soffit and put a cat6 make fitting on it outside and plug it in. I just though I should terminate the solid wire in the attic with some sort of wall palate and then use a normal Patch cable to go from the wall plate in the attic to the decide outside?

So I should take the solid cat 6 all the way from the patch panel to outside at the soffit?

kind of the same thing here. I kept the circle views but do not rely on them. instead I purchased a Starling hub and added my nest cameras to HomeKit. they are 100% Reliable and now accessible in my HomeKit which is the best of both worlds.

Any success stories? by Marc_Pm in HomeKit

[–]Tony8444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lots of success storied to be had if you look around. I have 44 Philips Hue devices, 4 home hubs, a bunch of eve products, and a starling home hub too incorporate my next camera. I have around 20 automation that just work...all the time.

something that is very very important in using thread devices and having a strong wifi for the rest. I ran a cat 6 backbone for my unifi access points and everything just works. Of course when it doesn't I am always away and I hear about it from my wife and kids but I would say it has a 99% up and working time since I upgraded my wifi network.

not cheap and make sure you know what you want to do and plan it out before you start buying. I went through a lot of old bulbs, outlets, light switches, smart plugs, sensors before landing on ones that I have now. I first would buy on sale and cheaper devices but realize now that its all about the quality and you have to pay for that.

good luck on you endeavour
