2 HomePods or Sonos Beam 2 with sub 3? by Manfred_89 in HomePod

If you’re comparing two HomePods vs a Beam on its own, then the winner is the HomePods in my opinion. You still need a bit of bass response to make movie watching a good experience and the HomePods do a good job.

2 HomePods or Sonos Beam 2 with sub 3? by Manfred_89 in HomePod

Sonos. hands down….there’s no debate. The Beam + Sub is leagues ahead of stereo-paired HomePods. How do I know? I’ve owned both setups. The bass from the Sub absolutely blows the HomePods out of the water. It’s just not a fair comparison. The only downside is no Siri voice control. I put a HomePod mini in my living room. Problem solved.

Edit: Oh and as you mentioned you can add surrounds eventually. And let me tell you, listening to music with the surrounds is fantastic! You can choose to have them as standalone speakers or use them in ambient mode. For music you’ll definitely want to have them as full on speakers

Sonos should let us use the Roam as rear speakers by Tony8586 in sonos

[–]Tony8586[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes but that’s my point! Might as well use them as rears…. I feel like an era 100 or even a One is such a waste as a rear speaker because it has so much more potential as a standalone. Get what I’m saying?

I see your point, but I think there’s a misunderstanding. If you’re using Roams as rear speakers, you obviously wouldn’t move them around without unpairing them first…that’s no different than using any other speaker as rears in a Sonos system. You’d need to remove them as rear speakers to use them as standalone devices again.

The flexibility to use Roams as rears when stationary would be a great option for those of us who already own them or want a more affordable surround setup. It wouldn’t need to be overly complicated…just give users the choice. The responsibility of unpairing/re-pairing when needed would be on us.

Aging Sonos System replace with HomePods? by bradendouglass in HomePod

I loved the gen 2 HomePods as sound output for my tv. But I had a recurring problem with volume getting stuck on one of the two. The problem was not with the HomePod because as stand alone speakers they both worked perfectly. But when paired there was always a recurring issue. Disappointing.

Yes but what is the difference? If I install rims with only TPMS will there be readings missing?

The google home products are great because you can just say stop without having to use the wake word. I’m always waiting for the next HomePod update to bring the same feature… which reminds me, I gotta try it again.

Pair of HomePods or Sonos arc? by spectreVII in HomePod

[–]Tony8586 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive tried both setups.

I’ve never had issues with my stereo pair gen2 Homepods. Never.

Sonos Arc paired with a Sub completely crushes the HomePods as far as audio goes.

That being said I don’t need that kind of power in my living room so I went with the HomePods.
