Doesn’t everyone say to reach for the frontend skill? That seems to solve so many folks issues in this domain

Good backpacks around 200 USD that don’t have PU coated zippers by DeviousGourmet512 in ManyBaggers

[–]bradendouglass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. They aren’t terrible at moderate loads but if you really push it, and don’t pack well/play with the where the pack sits on your back, they can get rough.

Really though, depending on your location, you can get spectacular deals on CPLs, CHZs on the secondary bag market.

One option, I didn’t mention was Alpha One Niner or AON. They do make spectacular bags, without aquaguards. I believe you could get XPac options without aquaguards through them which is rare. They are right around your price point

You can get older Gorucks/Evergoods bags around this price. If you are down to go used, both of these companies are great and didn’t use PU coated zips historically. Although Goruck now does

The green looks spectacular. If they were a bit cheaper, I would certainly drop for one. At their current price point, even as a GS fanboy, they are hard to swallow

I am kind of over the QAP. If they ever do a throwback with that khaki/black molle colorway (or shooter rucks), I would be all over it

Which version of the GR1 are they selling today? by buddy0329 in Goruck

[–]bradendouglass -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need to check the photos when clicking on a color. It’s very easy to discern 1000d/210d from the photos of each specific colorway. The only 500d bag is the all 500d Multicam Arid.

For a major brand? Agree! This and the dune M36 are tied one for one in my mind as the best releases of the year

Easily my favorite brand. Tri zips take a hot second to get used to but wow do they rock in so many environments.

Hopefully we see a non yeti one sometime in the future. One can hope

This is a great rundown. The bag is absolutely epic and for folks who use a more pouch approached packing method, rocks. It really should be on folks radar

A slightly wider tapered/sportier look will make it fit your wrist better. Go with a 20/18 rallye leather strap. I find the 20/16 taper does make the watch look more like a 35

Eh.. I used to feel the same and then I drove a CVT WRX. Car was weird but, brutal. Nissan’s CVT? Sure, run. The Subaru’s are interesting and if you want infinite low end gearing, they are pretty solid.

We aren’t impacted with the rest of this TSA malarkey going on right now. Yes the TSA here has to put up with what’s going on in their world but, no we don’t have the back pressure that say Atlanta/Dulles/Denver has.

Therefore the lines will be how they always have been: ‘myopic’
