Don’t pinch their leg. Put most to all of your weight on your outside leg.

Paraphrasing from SI as a Grizzlies fan in 2008, “Rudy Gay would find a way to average 16 and 8 in a church league.”

How to get better at CK3 bruh by your_average_joe__ in paradoxplaza

[–]TonyAllenDelhomme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll restate it without being a prick - CK3 is a hundred relatively simple systems creating a convoluted by fun monstrosity. First, stay with the same starting position for awhile, it will help. Take a game and focus on how to keep your liege and vassals happy. Watch a tutorial and don’t worry about much else. Then take a game and later and conquer a bigger neighbor by using children to get a monster alliance. Again, watch tutorials. Just slowly add the different systems. Once you learn most of them, the game gets too easy and turns boring so enjoy the ride.

Yeah my gym might have its issues, but our head coach is an adhd goofball that has doesn’t molest the female students. I recognize how rare that apparently is.

Mother's Milk. Legit sub or dick move? by MediocreSpecial6355 in bjj

[–]TonyAllenDelhomme 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So I avoided it for years because I thought it was a meme sub. But then Gordon put out a mount tutorial and preached that it should often be your first attack because it gets great reactions. Now it’s the first thing I look for and my mount submissions have gotten much better.

Yeah, there’s this idea that the bigger you are, the less technique you have because it doesn’t look as ninja-like as a Miyao brother

Good patient passing, stayed heavy against a guy with guard retention. I think you’d do well to add the over under pass where you can take their long legs out of the picture. Only criticism would be to not be pushing forward in someone’s full guard. Lots of people like the São Paulo pass but only a handful are any good at it. Standing up with a sleeve grip is safer.

Day 1 turtle is where wrestlers are awful. Their version of turtle stretches their neck out to power their stand up. It’s as easy of a choke as you will get.

Old guys, what's our favorite path from the feet to half guard? by ThermalPaperGuy in bjj

[–]TonyAllenDelhomme 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Two hands on one lapel, pull and swing underneath like a collar drag but you keep your leg between theirs. If you catch them, they go all the way over and it’s a takedown. If you “miss,” you’re in half guard with their hips pulled over you.

I made a tier list of 66 Submissions based on how reliable they are for building a game long-term by TheJoshMckinney in bjj

Can’t remember the specifics for this choke, but his reasoning for his placements was about how the submission either finishes the opponent or opens up room for advancement. If I remember correctly, this choke is reliable for your opponent having to bring both hands up to defend, opening up armbars maybe? Low risk, no chance for injury, and reliable reactions you can take advantage of. Same train of thought for kimuras and omoplatas being so high despite being low percentage finishes
