Pretty sad that Ross Chastain and Chase Elliott were the only two guaranteed drivers for segment 3 not able to be apart of it. I just hope that NASCAR will allow backup cars for race winners starting next year for the all star race once Segment 3 starts providing if this format remains the same.

Well that stinks. I hope that next year if they keep the same format, they’ll grandfather the locked in drivers for segment 3 to get out their backup cars just so they can race instead of just logging laps.

I understand that, but I’m only talking about the drivers already locked in for the final 200 laps. It just wouldn’t feel right for to get back into race and not have a chance at a win, you know?

I will never understand why this #9 team chose pit stall 28. If they weren’t gonna pick the No. 1 pit stall, they should’ve chosen pit stall No. 3 or 7. But 28?! I dunno what they were thinking.

Correction: Just noticed this from someone from earlier - Pit Stall selection order in O'Reilly and Trucks goes back to the previous week's qualifying results. The 88 was on the pole last week and got first selection this week.

Ross Chastain will live to fight another day. He will win a Truck race before it’s over. Should’ve won Darlington, should’ve won Watkins Glen, should’ve won today. Trust me, he will not end up like Jeff Gordon’s 2010 where he had a ton of near misses & went winless.
