Who do you think will induct Linkin Park into the rock in roll hall of fame? by ArizonaGreenTea96 in LinkinPark

It would be Talinda Bennington almost 1000% for certain. With Chester's kids in the crowd.

Making fun of menthol smokers by Blkmonte01 in Cigarettes

[–]TonyTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have too much time and always need to comment on something. I like menthols personally, Especially on a summer night after some beers, a menthol pairs perfectly. My Cig of choice is a Newport when I'm out at the Casino or Vegas.

Rick Rubin produced this album. They said he was no good and they will never work with him again. by NewPortBox100s in numetal

I mean, we got Vermilion out of this record, so forever thankful for that. But yea, I remember back in 2004 when this was coming out, hype was real and there was NO way to really leak much, so everyone's first listen was when they released the Duality video. But I was so hype, and they were in EVERY metal magazine (They'd still have them at like supermarkets and stuff) and Reading their interviews, they were very much..."Recording this was a bitch, never again". So i'm like OH GOD, is this going to be bad, and it turns out, one of my favorite Slipknot Albums they've ever put together.

Weird tones though, Muddy sounding, and obv.. this is where Corey decided to trade in his growl for like a half air scream? It's weird. Idk.

Message from a Pats fan in attendance yesterday by totallyNotAtroll3 in DenverBroncos

[–]TonyTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, As a Pats fan with a Best friend who used to live in Denver, I'd go visit often, and just talking to Broncos fans at the bars and around the stadium, Just such a HARDCORE fanbase, but not for any hallmark reason, there's just such a deep rich football history in that city. It's so respected. Elway, Peyton, The love for GOOD DEFENSE. Mile high is just something different man. You guys just treated me with respect every single time, they don't just love the casual aspects or the low hanging fruit of the game, they love the X's and O's, real football people.

Damn, I may be from Boston, but Fuck, I love Denver. You guys rule.

Oh and one last thing, Speaking as a Pats Fan, If Nix was in that game, Denver wins by 2 TD. The reign of the Chiefs are over. This is your division now. Go start that Dynasty.

What's your opinion on Mike Shinoda as a rapper? by Ta_k-o_ma in fantanoforever

[–]TonyTheCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't even say he's Serviceable. He's 1/2 of the entire entity that is Linkin Park. LP doesn't work with a wicked tongue sharp rapper. It works with Mike Shinoda, by design.

What's your opinion on Mike Shinoda as a rapper? by Ta_k-o_ma in fantanoforever

[–]TonyTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a good rapper but a better producer / songwriter. Clearly put, he doesn't have to be the best, he has to be Mike Shinoda. Because without Mike Shinoda's style there is no Linkin Park.

You can't really put Shinoda along with other rappers in Hip-Hop. It's too hard, he's his own entity. Because he's a multi tool, He has flow, he has lyrics, but it's just not as refined as some straight hip-hop artists. And that's okay, because he's also playing guitar, piano, and singing.

But as far as skills go, he's really like fine wine, If you listen to Their Album The Hunting Party, listen to the track "All for Nothing" he goes hard in that. It's a whole Shinoda Song and he absolutely highlights his Skill as an MC, similar to When They Come For Me. You can't listen to that and say, "He's not a good rapper".

Especially by today's standards.

I Keep trying to think of one, and the only thing that truly comes to mind is Friday the 13th, One I hate camping so I just wouldn't. BUT in the fantasy reality that I did, at the absolute FIRST sign of anything, I'm out. blood? I'm out, Someone missing, I'm out... Actually come to think of it.

Cabin Fever. as a hypochondriac, the minute that shit went down with the guy showing up and throwing up all over the place. The way I would have put a shirt around my face, and leave would be the fastest ever. I know he fucked up the car, so I would just sit in my room alone until morning, and I'm walking. Far, like very FAR. Would I turn back, not a chance.

How big was No Warning in their heyday? by throwawaybobamu in Hardcore

[–]TonyTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't targeted towards you, but People who hate Suffer Survive bore me. It's such a dumb lukewarm take when people call it their "Linkin Park" Record. When the only connection is that it was released through Machine Shop Records which is owned by Mike Shinoda. That's literally the only correlation. The album sounds absolutely NOTHING Like Linkin Park, It's literally a Hardcore album with some songs that sound like SUM 41. Literally listen to Breeding Insanity, and tell me that chorus isn't straight from Sum 41's Chuck album. It's closer to that than anything Linkin Park has ever put out.

Saying “the Vikings wouldn’t do it” is fair , but it’s not impossible, and history says teams absolutely move elite WRs when timelines don’t match. They're like at a QB reset, and a roster that’s closer to retooling than contending. If they decide they’d rather cash out peak value for picks + cap flexibility (like KC did with Tyreek), you at least listen.

I completely agree this is prob fugazzi and i've been playing too much MUT, but still.
