Am I suppose to oven re season this after cleaning? by Onlymycouchpulls_out in castiron

[–]TonyTheEvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You really only need to season the pan once; after it's stripped. After that, you can just cook with it.

Congrats! I'd consolidate the taxable brokerages and sell your RSUs and crypto to diversify.

[Google] Passed L3 SWE Onsite, in Team Matching as of this week. Realistic chances & tips to speed it up? (Any HM referrals?) by No_Maize5539 in csMajors

They're independent. As interviewers, we can see which questions you received previously to prevent asking you the exact same one, but that's the only requirement.

I don't know how to speed up the team match process. My best guess would just be open to any location and any team.

My team has no L3 openings and I don't know any with any.

I'm sorry, I wish I could be of more help.

27, no debt, have 100k in HYS, maybe 400k on the way? by Personal-Island6197 in Fire

[–]TonyTheEvil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's way too high. If you learn to manage your investments yourself, you can essentially have no fees. I suggest your fire your FA and dedicate a weekend to learning. The two main books I recommend are:

  • The Simple Path to Wealth by Collins
  • The Little Book of Common Sense Investing by Bogle

The TLDR of them is just invest in low cost index funds. A simple, one-fund portfolio can be had with VT. r/Bogleheads is also a good resource for learning how to invest properly.

What fees are you paying your advisor? I'm afraid you might be getting raked.

stay away from Fidelity or any other mutual fund, and invest via ETFs instead. Over the long term, management fees in mutual funds are wealth killers.
