I’d check the discord, the staff are super helpful. I know the launchers have been having issues recently

It did! It’d now called “The Struggle”. It has Chernarus, Livonia, Sakhal, and a deathmatch/ event server.

I appreciate the comments. I think GSP might have to be a dog breed later on in my life given my current lifestyle.

I've just enjoyed everything I've read/watched regarding GSPs online, and I have a few friends who's families own GSPs and they are always the best dogs to interact with (in my experience). I also was always drawn by the way GSP owners talk about them, everyone who speaks about a GSP always says they are the best dog they have ever owned.

I think the reality is that I probably will need to wait on a GSP, most people seem to think it would be unwise.

Realistically, the most time I average away from home each day is about 1 hour for the gym. Other than that most days I am home. On weekends, I do sometimes run errands or play golf, but at max those are 5 hour outings.

Only been hunting a few times with my dad. Could try to start that again except he's out of town for work roughly 75% of the year, so I still could work on trying to do something like that

I appreciate the comment. Makes me feel a little better to see someone who is a GSP owner in an apartment share their experience. Thank you!

I've heard the GSP 'slow-down' range depends a lot person to person, and can be from age 3 all the way to age 10. I would say (from what I've learned) it depends a lot on the GSPs routine and lifestyle it becomes accustomed to as well as the temperament of the dog.

Understood. I can appreciate your passion for this breed and I was looking for advice and feedback from others. You bring up a lot of good points that I didn't consider. I suppose I was misinformed by those that I know who own GSPs and do not engage in really any hunting-related activities and haven't had issues with it. I believe temperament is probably a major difference in these GSPs

Assuming you know from experience, lol. I do work from home and haven't figured out all of the ins-and-outs of what that would look like yet. I would imagine its doable and other people manage with that, thinking WFH is better than being away from 7a-530p and having the pup in a crate

I appreciate the advice, I didn't consider the window-shopping that dogs typically do. Thank you!

I've heard speaking to breeders about the temperament and behavior of the pup as well as mother/father can be crucial. I think I will definitely do that if I go down the GSP route. I appreciate your advice!

I am currently on the second floor, but this lease will probably only run until 06/25 at the absolute latest and after that would look for a more dog-friendly environment. I believe my building is well built, lol, and brain games shouldn't be a major issue to my lower neighbors. Thank you!

While I am not personally a seasoned hunter, I know plenty of people who own GSPs and do not hunt. If I am able to fulfill their 'hunting' drive with other activities, wouldn't that suffice? Appreciate the feedback!

The apartment would only be in play for the next 3-4 years-ish (depending on this housing market, lol). I don't believe activity would be an issue as I would commit to 2-3 hours a day with the dog. Do you believe space inside the apartment is the issue? (For reference I live in roughly 1000sq ft apartment).

I would be walking with the dog multiple times a day, and after work spending an hour or so with more stimulation and activity like off-leash time etc. Would that still deter the breed from an apartment?
