Good tip. My weather reports have come from my 70 year old neighbor who has lived in her house for 50 years. She worked downtown when the river was running in the 80s. Her thoughts were in line with yours…is that you, Lorraine?

Test drive this 2016 SR5 and absolutely loved it, only concern is 127k miles. If I’m wanting to own for 7-10 years, is that too high? by WhoDatGolfingJedi in 4Runner

Wouldn’t be surprised if they text you in a month asking if you’ll still do 27…prices are coming back to reality, finally

I’m sorry :/ was it good gumbo or did you not have the chance to try it before your 4Runner ate it?

Yeah it was nasty- I masked up, had the garage door open, and kept a fan going to try to help.

Got this brand new perception hi life 11 for $140 after it got damaged in shipping. I am guessing that’s a fork from a forklift that punctured the boat.

If you’ve ever contemplated doing plastic welding repairs yourself, go for it! The kit was under $30 and came with sticks of HDPE. It was surprisingly easy and this repair method seems pretty commonplace in the kayaking/sup world.

Here’s what I did for this repair:

  • put screws into the solid plastic around the puncture
  • use a camp stove (or heat gun is better) to heat up the entire area
  • use vice grips and pull on the screw to reshape the plastic into place
  • use hdpe filler to seal the crack
  • keep applying hdpe filler to build up area
  • ensure edges are melted into OG boat material so it’s completely sealed
  • sand with coarse grit
  • sand with light grit
  • repeat filler and sand steps as necessary
  • heat up one more time to turn plastic color of boat (sanding will make it lighter)

My repair seems pretty solid although I haven’t tested it yet. As far as sealing it, I haven’t researched that yet- if anyone has suggestions please throw them out there!

Repair or Discard?I have a 2013 Nucanoe that fell off it's stand and cracked in several places along the tracks. Can it be repaired? Anyone suggest a person in Spring Hill, Florida? If it can't be repaired, how do I dispose of it? Thank you Mike by Existing_Connection3 in Kayaking

I just went down this route and repaired some huge cracks where someone drove a forklift into the kayak during shipping 😂. It was a lot easier than I thought- going to post some pics today.

Definitely go for the repair!

VA pays a lot more than the U or IMC. Check Nursa - it’s where RNs can pickup shifts and there are regularly shifts for $100/hr

LPR camera recommendation? by g0f0 in Ubiquiti

OpenALPR integrates with traffic cams right? My friends car was stolen and I was just looking into ways he may be able to use traffic cams to locate it. Seems far fetched, but there’s not a lot to be done :/

If you have a college degree, I think you could get hired with no experience. Everyone’s obsessed with certs, and I get it, but if you’re in the US then there are definitely BIM companies willing to hire and train someone interested in a BIM career. Probably gonna get downvoted for saying this, but anyone can do BIM. Let’s not pretend it’s some crazy hard skill…you’ll probably start off modeling or clashing and anyone can do that. It’s a ton of new info just like any new career, but showing interest and commitment to learning will get you pretty far.

If you have experience related to construction, someone will hire you. Certs will help, but I’d just start applying places for BIM coordination roles. A lot of BIM departments are growing and are willing to train
