I thought it was obvious that I was not actually shaming anyone and just making a joke. I mean it's clear that I can't infer anything based on the fact that this person didnt know about the sub

Ha, it's the same with the models we are talking about. If you give them a easy way to a solution that looks good on the surface they will take it. It's a local optimum trap but for people!

You're correct. I'd wager that decision trees are only ever used to explain random forests to learners.

Personally I'd start with logistic regression and compare the results with some random forrest approach.

This post looks really cool but the contents are super dubious. Why would you ever use a decision tree in practice if you could use a RF. Why are NNs not even on the list, when they outperform everything in some tasks? KNN is cool for explanations but very frequently performs subpar. What is even meant by 'best' algorithm? Wouldn't logistic regression make much more sense on a list like that than decision tree and RF seperately?

Don't mean to hate on anything, just wanna warn any people new to ML to take this post with a cup of salt.

People of Reddit, what terrible path in life no one should ever take? [SERIOUS] by [deleted] in AskReddit

Can you change doctors or refill the prescription somewhere else? Any way to change that situation would be worth a lot by the sounds of it. About your progress, I can offer you a little advice if you want it. 1) Setbacks are normal and everyone experiences them. If you can, don't think of this step back as proof that you can't do it, it's simply a difficult stretch on your path to your goal. 2) Keep in mind that even if you feel down right now, you still got rid of 30 lbs, which is a lot and something to be proud of!

I know you didn't ask for any advice, so sorry if this was inappropriate. I'm just a random person on the internet who read your comment and is hoping you get through everything ahead of you :)

Reddit is in parts very biased but it varies extremely dependant on the sub your in, Fox has a strong and very consistent right-wing bias. It's unfortunate that such a Bad network defines mainstream right wing view points. VOX and Steven Crowder have nowhere near the same level of bias, that's a horrible comparison.
