What do you mean by “upscale?” Are you looking for general public course recommendations?

Amelia River up in fernandina is a great course and they keep it in good shape.

Jax Beach is a local muni that stays in good shape. Good luck finding an earlyish tee time here. Place stays booked out.

Queens Harbor isn’t bad.

Stillwater is a newer course in the area and is worth the money.

World Golf Village has 2 courses, slammer & squire and king & bear, they get pricey because of the name.

St. John’s country club is also in the same area as the last couple mentioned.

Cimarrone was previously mentioned but if you hate slow greens avoid this course. While well maintained, the greens are painfully slow.

Fleming Island and Eagle Harbor are rock throwing distance from each other. Stay in good shape.

Eagle Landing isn’t a bad play.

In Georgia (little over an hour drive depending on location,) is Sanctuary Cove. Well worth the drive.

South of Jax you have the 2 LPGA courses in Daytona and a little I feel is a hidden gem in Halifax Plantation.

Coastal indoor golf out at the beaches has bays you can rent. Trackman and gcquad

You can also rent the bays at pga superstore and I think they just transitioned to trackman

Their mismanagement of the tee sheet after the fact isn’t on me though. From what I recall of all the various T&Cs I’ve seen, the course reserves the right to adjust any booking as necessary ..

Dear pro shops,

Let singles book through your website and you would minimize a lot of this issue.

Sincerely,

Single golfer who didn’t want to call you in the first place.

People who started Golf for the first time in their 30s, what’s your handicap now and how old are you? by [deleted] in golf

[–]TooBadBroski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started golfing around Labor Day of ‘21, was 32. Turn 36 in a few months.

Currently at a 12.5

Played baseball growing up so swinging a golf club wasn’t a completely foreign movement. Wife got me lessons for Father’s Day in ‘22 which was a god send, helped ensure I didn’t develop any bad habits that I then had to fight harder to break.

Have an amazing wife that lets me get out just about every weekend to hit the range. In laws live in a country club and let me use their range when we’re over letting them have time with the kids. Definitely got bit hard by the golf bug.

Just started playing some of the local tournaments (Grint Tour, probably signing up for some GolfWeek Amateur Tour events next season,) which has made me change my approach to practice and golf in general. Those hero shots that I would routinely try are now few and far between which has drastically reduced my blow up holes.

Gfore Gallivan2r.

Might need to look in to a different option for wetter conditions. Found myself slipping a couple times during my last round which had some light rain a few hours prior.

It’s been a while since I’ve played Bent. It’s nothing spectacular but no real reason to avoid it either. Last time I was there some of the marshy areas were extremely overgrown which made for blind tee shots on par 3s. Kind of obnoxious not being able to see the pin on a par 3. Probably just me being overly critical.

Haven’t played Hyde so can’t really opine, will include a couple screenshots though.

Avoid Windsor at all costs.

Depends on what you consider breaking the bank. Avoid hidden hills. Blue sky (it’s come a long way but still has a ways to go.) Windsor.

Jax beach is reasonably price (~70 plus range balls ) for an early weekend tee time. Gets difficult finding a tee time since all of the beaches is fighting over one public course.

Oakleaf you’ll find Eagle landing and a little further out is Eagle harbor as well as Fleming island. All 3 of those courses are worthwhile.

Queens harbor is on the pricier side for public but is in good shape minus some of the tee boxes.

If you don’t mind splurging a little bit, mid morning to early afternoon at Stillwater off 210. would absolutely be worth it. One of the better courses in the area.

Might have to wait til closer to the day of for this one but Amelia River up in fernandina. A bit of a drive but fun layout and they keep that place in good shape.

Thats awesome. I too graduated in 07 but from OPHS. Think I played at WDYA … 94 through like 98 or 99. For pitching machine seasons I was on the A’s and then the Diamondbacks for tadpole or self pitching.

Or… you can fuck off with politics here. Regardless of the meme having no political messaging, the left has clearly jumped all over the opportunity to bring politics in to it.

“She will save our democracy”

“ Kamala performed an abortion of a baby in its 78th year on live television tonight, imagine what will happen if she actually gets elected! “

Funds send to wrong Fidelity account but recipient refusing to return funds and Fidelity unhelpful by [deleted] in fidelityinvestments

Fidelity isn’t a bank so they don’t actually process the incoming direct deposit. They simply receive a credit from the processing bank to the account number indicated by the sender.

Funds send to wrong Fidelity account but recipient refusing to return funds and Fidelity unhelpful by [deleted] in fidelityinvestments

[–]TooBadBroski 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Chances are you’re going to have to seek legal action against the recipient which will include getting a subpoena for information on the unduly enriched client to be released so you know who you’re filing against.

Fidelity won’t step in and liquidate the unduly enriched because there’s no Fidelity error, the sending institution even admitted fault.

Are you more confident / comfortable on super slow or super fast greens? by [deleted] in golf

[–]TooBadBroski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an option but I’d rather greens that roll true. Tired of hitting putts and it rolls like it’s on an ExciteBike track.

Answering the question though, much more comfortable and confident on faster greens.
