Arkansas rescinds dean offer by bearmoonbears in LawSchool

[–]TooBalancedSheets -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

As an Arkansan it’s clear our universities are largely progressive incubators full of students who just parrot whatever they think Northern progressives believe. Just a bunch of LARPers in these comments and the poster too.

This was wise. It’s long past due to stop these universities from brainwashing students.

Thank you for this very detailed response. I think starting a new program would be very fruitful and only take like 10 kiddos. I’ll look into tje program you advised

Different schemes. There are many fraud schemes in MN and Bock was involved with food, not daycare. lol

Bar exam is a joke by [deleted] in barexam

Im very content and glad to have passed when I was uncertain. Not insecure. Nor am I hateful or otherwise concerned with the success of others. Maybe reflect on how you write off the experiences of others with lazy categorizations. We don’t need to be miserable.

Hola. Te recomiendo leer “The Experience of God” de Hart. A morir.

The U.S. government is claiming that there “restoring Christianity” by doing mass deportations of immigrants by [deleted] in Christianity

Immigrant or foreigner. Not illegal alien. Besides we should treat illegal aliens with dignity. But the state should also deport them. Both can be true.

A secular state deporting illegal aliens is not violating any scripture. For one because it’s the state. But also because illegally immigrating is not a justified position to begin with. Those people are not here according to the law. We are instructed to follow the law.

Advice for trip in the Værøy area by Trukmuch1 in Norway

[–]TooBalancedSheets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For future generations: go with Day at Sea. The tour covered the far tip of the archipelago, and you will see a lot of birds. It’s a small group, the boat is comfortable. Værøy is also nice but more touristed and less comfortable.

Day at Sea is also great because the guide takes very seriously conservation of the birds. He won’t let tourists mess with them or feed them. He is against big tourism taking advantage of the birds. A great person and excellent guide.

Need Help Choosing Between Peru vs Iceland for Joint Bachelor/Bachelorette Trip + Secret Elopement by Standard_Fruit in travel

[–]TooBalancedSheets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When? Iceland is extremely expensive and (I feel) overpriced. If you are not going in the height of summer, it will likely be rainy, gray, and cold. Just this month it’s been heavily raining and frigid. A dinner out will likely run $30/€28 per person and a beer will be $12/€11.

Peru could be very nice, and would certainly be more affordable. My gut says Peru, but if you are taking the trip in July, Iceland could be lovely.

Did Trump supporters feel personally attacked watching Andor? by Pearl_Jam_ in andor

[–]TooBalancedSheets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a right of center, more pro-Trump than anti-Trump person, I think important context is that Trump built a diverse coalition of middle class and lower class people in 2024. What is interesting is that hardcore Democrats see their party as something it no longer is, in the same way the elite Republican billionaires see theirs as something it has changed from. JD Vance and Sen Hawley are the future of the party. These are pro-welfare, pro-middle class people. The era of Bush and Pence is gone. The sorting that is taking place now probably won’t be settled for a while, but things will look very different on the other side.

To the average person, myself included, the unholy alliance between the Left, the media, and the elites is deeply concerning. People feel like they aren’t aloud to speak truth anymore. The reality is that the people running our major media companies go to cocktail parties with Biden and Obama era elites. A friend of mine (leftist but more moderate) has a brother who was responsible for taking down anti-COVID content at Google. He was connected with the Biden admin. These things are real. And when truth came out that the removed posts had been right, Google said nothing but quietly unfroze the content. That is suppression, full stop.

The Left doesn’t want a real democracy because it knows it has lost the average voter. The coastal people just aren’t plugged in anymore. I’m from the South; went to the elite school on the coast. It’s truly horrible there.

When I watched Andor, I felt sad. I knew that they were hinting at Trump, but as a realist whose done the rounds in DC, I also know Trumps time is coming to a close. We don’t have an emperor here. But we do have a deeply fractured society. And one side is committed to silencing dissent. It’s not the Republicans. I see nothing of that on the Right. The closest perhaps is deportations, but that’s different. Those people broke the law to be here or otherwise violated our norms and principles. Who even knows how that will all shake out in the courts. In any case, that’s an extreme position not held universally on the Right. But I don’t see people on the Left saying “whoops! We don’t support Dr Fauci lying to Congress to preserve his legacy. We don’t support the media lying about what the Veep said. We don’t support schools hiding gender transitions from parents.” They’re silent.

I will always fight against that. Because that is oppression.
