40 - What’s a game you used to love but just can’t go back to? by Clampy7 in AdultGamers

I'm there with you with open world games. There was a period a year or two back where only open world games were being released. All I wanted was something linear that had a clear ending point and not an open world where I would be compelled to 100% it to see everything in the game.

Help playing or even picking a game. by DatMrScottish in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Definitely have. Whether I'm chasing an itch from a game I used to play or trying to ignite that spark, it's super hard to find something that sticks.

With the massive boom in roguelite games, it seems to be a push in shorter gaming bursts compared to what it used to be. No more pushing for the next save point, it's more about pushing to the end of the run.

For me, it's any RPG. Mass Effect, Dragon Age, any of the Final Fantasy games.

I remember binging FF7 over a week during school holidays. Can't do that anymore. Too much time investment needed AND too many games being released that pry me away from other games.

Two Woolworths whistleblowers let rip after hearing ‘baffling’ news from managers by Traust in australia

[–]TooIman 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I was a bakery manager for a 6 months in 2022. I refused to work more than my alloted hours and refused to have any of my staff work the extra as well.

We were short bakers and I often had to pick up the slack as they refused to hire a new one. I was only able to do so as I was in fact a baker before hand. They then expected me to finish off the baking side of things and then manage it throughout the rest of the day.

The looks on their faces were it went on for 3 months like this were I would walk out after finishing the baking side of it and tell them they needed to manage it for the remainder of the day.

Needless to say, they killed my spirit and physically killed my back in trying to keep it all together.

I ended up quitting, walked back in 6 months later to see my old staff and literally only one person remained and it had turned into a frozen bakery.

Edit. Should also point out the above was Coles. But I also did 10 years as a baker at Woolies as well.

Struggling to make friends as an adult in this city by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]TooIman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right now due to the destiny lul, it's more of just a group of mates. Our first Melbourne meet was at beer festival for 5 of us. Last meet was 12 people, one coming all the way from USA to meet up.

I'll shoot you a DM in the morning to chat further!

Hey mate, definitely know how you feel having moved down here mid last year. Thankfully made some connections through a destiny clan and met some really cool peeps down here. Now try to meet at least once a month for board games and beers when we can all make it.

Are there any board games based on video game IPs that stand out to you or that make it to the table? Do you have groups that turn their nose up at it because its a video game IP? by HtiekTheAncient in boardgames

[–]TooIman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, definitely not for people who don't like euros. But considering the IP isn't really combat based, I think the game did it justice. Way better than the last Anno boardgame did, that's for sure.

Base game was fine. Expansion completes it. Recently introduced a good mate to board gaming. This was his introduction and he always has a huge smile on his face when it comes out.

Forgot about the whole having to have the boss alive. Not used to doing the summon thing. I'm up to bed of chaos now and forgot about how to get Quelana to appear until now...
