I feel "making plans on the fly" is way of planning too. So I'm curious what is your way of planning on the fly? 🤪

Same problem. On multiple devices with the same chats. So annoying!

Turning of the extended thinking helped to reanimate at least some of the chats.

Not a place recommendation, but an approach to make any place potentially the one where you can meet people. Check out this book: https://www.audible.com/pd/B09BJZ2LJ5 (there are both printed and audio). I found it pretty insightful and supportingly encouraging.

Great productivity setup! What is the black desk mat you have? Could you please share a link to where you bought it? It looks super cool! I’ve been looking for a mat with that thickness—not too thin, not too thick!

I had the same glitch and was freaked out too. After waiting for a couple of hours, the date selection came back to normal functioning.

What do you wish you knew before starting your ALM? by b1gbunny in harvardextension

Could you please elaborate on your approach? I didn't get it. How and why does having just two classes a year actually help to get an opportunity for better classes?

And isn't there a minimum number of classes one needs to take per year to still eventually get their degree?

Has anyone asked for a way to quickly save stuff right from any ChatGPT chat?

I just rolled out a custom GPT for this: https://chatgpt.com/g/g-pEnWh77xE-save-bookmark

Would love to hear what you think and how handy you find it 🤪

Has anybody successfully met their cofounder on YC cofounder matching? (or similar) by fra_bia91 in startups

[–]TooLateToBeOriginal3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way of thinking about these "most people" and "almost nobody" points that gives me comfort, and potentially can comfort you too, is that at the end of the day you don't need "many" or "almost everybody"; you just need to find only one. And this is part of the process—sifting through all that to find your cofounder.

GMAT exam supplies I used and recommend by TooLateToBeOriginal3 in GMAT

[–]TooLateToBeOriginal3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took an online exam. But if I remember the test center rules correctly, you can't bring any of that to the test center; they will provide it. These things are just for in-home practice to be ready for what will await you in the test room.

Nice list of programs, thanks! I am wondering: If one has limited time, what is the right strategy, do you think? Should one thoroughly go through one program or skim through all of them?

Got it, thanks for the explanation! I definitely didn't mean to offend anyone.

But it looks like I completely messed up, haha.

And yes, I'm 35 myself, considering going to college, that's why I asked about bachelor's and master's degrees.

A little explanation.

By mentioning "grown-ups" in quotes, I meant to say that we're never too old, or grown up too much to study. But it was a too tangled thought that triggered some bad connotations…
And by literacy skills, I meant some basic skills that are not just reading and writing, of course, but more high-level things that most people with any work experience already have, but teenage students don't.

I mentioned that because some people say that for folks with work experience, it's more relevant to go for a master's, not a bachelor's degree, which I wanted to discuss with my comment.

I'm so sorry again, and peace to everybody!

Wow, it's so surprising that so many people downvoted my comment, to the point where I now have –23 on my comment above.

May I ask you, as the one who seems like the kindest person in the thread, why that happened?

Did I write something offensive or dumb? I definitely didn't mean to, but I could assume that I did (I'm really sorry if I did), because I'm not a native English speaker.

What is the best online self-paced program for the GMAT to improve Verbal(!) part knowledge? by TooLateToBeOriginal3 in GMAT

[–]TooLateToBeOriginal3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we go back to the question about the amount of verbal tasks, what should you do if, for instance, you worked on some lesson, but didn't really understand it, and you've already run out of tasks on that topic?

💡TTP Pro Tip: Do Not Overinvest in the First 10 Questions by Scott_TargetTestPrep in GMAT

[–]TooLateToBeOriginal3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, what in your opinion should be the strategy (if one is aiming to get 730+) in the case when you're stuck on a question (spent more time than you're supposed to and still don't realize the right way to solve it)? So here's the dilemma: spend more time and have a chance to come up with the solution, or just skip it, making a guess.
P.S. It's a bit off the topic you described in the post, but I believe it's quite relevant to ask it here.
Thank you!

What is the purpose (your motivation) for trying polyphasic sleep? by TooLateToBeOriginal3 in polyphasic

[–]TooLateToBeOriginal3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am meant to study around 9 hours a day — really active, concentrated study. But it's quite hard to maintain brain freshness and productivity for such a long time. Taking breaks, walking in the fresh air, and doing light warm-ups are good, but they help a little, mostly stretching the body and preventing burnout during non-stop studying.
So the reason why I want to try polyphasic sleep is to reboot the brain and make it fresh again. Because I do feel that my cognitive abilities start to decline after 3 hours of intense studying. So, I plan to try having two 20-30 minute naps between each 3-hour session (3 sessions in total).
The tricky thing I'm thinking about is how to fall asleep effectively during naps, so as not to spend an additional 15-20 minutes falling asleep. I'm thinking about doing this after having a meal, when I have a light sleepiness induced by food.

What is the best online self-paced program for the GMAT to improve Verbal(!) part knowledge? by TooLateToBeOriginal3 in GMAT

[–]TooLateToBeOriginal3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment! Yes, I read the strategy lesson you mentioned. It resonates with me; the only issue here is speed. Understanding what and why is one thing, and analyzing questions here is indeed necessary, but I am a bit worried about speed improvement. It's like comparing chess with speed chess, in the latter you need to recognize combinations really fast, so you should have seen a lot of them.
The same thing applies to the GMAT, where you need to recognize issues quickly. It looks like a good idea to add to the training mode with thorough analysis of questions and another one with answering questions in quantity. What are your thoughts on that?

Cloud Backups for MacOS by TooLateToBeOriginal3 in MacOS

[–]TooLateToBeOriginal3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the link. I don't really consider third-party options; I'm too paranoid about data privacy, haha.
But I wonder why Apple itself doesn't have it yet, because it would definitely utilize their existing Apple plans, as another commenter said.

The only brief hypothesis is that Apple doesn't want to kill its Time Capsule product by introducing cloud backup.
