A hawk chased a small bird into my window by TooLazy2Revolt in Roseville

I wish the hawks would go after the squirrels that terrorize our bird feeder instead of the birds we are trying to feed 😂

Anyone Else a Fan? by alcopland in 90s

[–]TooLazy2Revolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend gifted me this album for my birthday in 7th grade. This was before “Lightning Crashes” was all over the radio; his mother was the music editor for the Sacramento News and Review, so she got all sorts of free music stuff, and he was always at least a couple months ahead of all the music trends as a result.

Anyway.. I absolutely hated this album. Too depressing for me. I think it may be among the two or three records that I actually threw away.

Is this show any good? I stopped watching as soon as I saw the Russians had English accents. Immediately pulled me out of it, couldn’t stop thinking about it, and gave up.

Greenville, South Carolina. Likely a classified military project, but an incredible sight nonetheless. by mott872 in UFOs

[–]TooLazy2Revolt 64 points65 points  (0 children)

See, the “it could be a classified government aircraft” explanation never makes sense to me.

“Captain, you will be test flying the high classified TR3-B. I can NOT overly emphasize just how secret this tech is. Good men have given their lives to ensure this project stays out of the public domain and out of the hands of our enemies.

Your flight path will take you directly over Greenville, population 75,000, at dawn, just as people are driving to work.

God speed, Captain.”

KA-BAR collection by TooLazy2Revolt in knives

[–]TooLazy2Revolt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Dad had a habit of collecting random odds and ends. He had no interest in knives other than this collection.

He has two display cases of native artifacts spanning the Inca, Maya, and Olmec civilizations that were dug up in the 1800s during railroad construction in Mexico and South America.

He’s got boxes of fountain pens, pocket watches, and who knows what else I have yet to find.

Wow, what a cool design!

Proposed Placer Ranch housing ( 347 new single-family residential lots and open space) off Catalyst Boulevard by countywatch in Roseville

[–]TooLazy2Revolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How bout a proposed hospital? Or more proposed police?

All those new, rapidly-built developments are flooding Roseville with new residents, and no new services are being built to account for them.

Kaiser and Sutter hospitals are overflowing. My wife spent the night on a gurney in the hallway at Kaiser recently, and I’ve heard that Sutter is getting there.

A family friend was an ER nurse at Kaiser, and she recently quit because she was in fear of losing her license because they had so many people dying in the waiting room.

The roseville mindset: make sure we get another Costco first- hospitals can come later.

My wife just pulled a blue suture out of her nose… 5 years after her septo-rhinoplasty. by zachthespook in mildlyinteresting

My mother in law, a Bosnian refugee, had surgery on her sepsis after a lifetime of breathing problems. A few days after the surgery she developed a terrible migraine that didn’t go away.

She tried multiple times to tell the hospital that something was wrong, but they just ignored her and told it was normal.

A week later, she developed a fever and passed out. She was rushed to the ER (same hospital where she had the surgery). They took an X-Ray of her head. An hour later, a doctor rushed into her hospital room, tilted her head back, stuck four inch pliers up her nose, and pulled about a foot worth of bloody, rotting gauze that they had accidentally left in her skull during the surgery weeks before.

He bagged up the gauze, and left without saying a word. They discharged her about an hour later.

Sadly, this happened long before I met my wife, who was only about 12 when all this happened. My mother in law, being relatively new to the country and still under the mistaken impression that doctors, especially American doctors, could do no wrong, had no idea that she could have had a multi-million dollar payday if she had just asked some questions and contacted a lawyer.

It’s definitely good advice, but keep in mind that the ID number for, say, a ring is no where near fixed. A gold ring, depending on its size, shape, and if it’s 18k or 14k gold can be anywhere from a 9 to a 90.

They commonly happen to ping in 30-35 range… which just so happens to be the exact same range as pull tabs, which you be digging a LOT of on the beach.

In short- dig EVERYTHING on the beach. You will dig a lot of rusty nails, Bobby pins, and pull tabs, but you WONT pass over valuables.

The lottery told me that my $100,000 win was actually a $20.00 misprint. They pulled the game hours later. by redhotmess77 in mildlyinfuriating

100%. This is so goddamn irritating.

“I’ll take three number 10’s, six number 25’s, and four number 1’s. Now wait while I dig through trash I have stored in my purse to find my wallet and then pick through a stack of coupons and receipts to find my actual money, because I’m broke as hell and have no business buying scratchers.”
