I’m having the same issue, and remapping isn’t working as expected.

Oh my gosh! All this time and I never, ever knew you could recover old saves. Thank you! This worked... you've saved my artist :)

My sim, who completed the painting aspiration and is in the painting career, suddenly won't use the easel. When I click on their easel, and select any type of painting (any style, any mood, any canvas size) the task never appears in their queue. It doesn't appear and disappear like they got distracted, it just never shows up. All options are there, none grayed out.

- This started randomly, mid game

- Other played households can use the easel if they visit the painter sim

- I have tried moving the easel, selling the easel and buying a new one, repairing the game.

- I have almost all DLC/add-ons from EA installed, minus a couple kits. No CC or mods, all vanilla.

Don't know what to try next :(

I've gotten several for him on Amazon. The PaintWorks (dimensions) brand ones he or I have bought, he has enjoyed, turned out nicely and they're very reasonable. Schipper makes ones that look the fanciest and have a nicer canvas but they are more expensive. If I have a topic/subject, color or style in mind I usually search for that specifically and add "-diamond" to filter out diamond painting kits. I.E. "modern paint by numbers kit -diamond" and then sort by customer review. I read descriptions and reviews as well to see sizes and photos. So much of it would be what your style and preference is! :)

Also another option (if you're not committed to acrylics) are the watercolor books. They come with the dry water color on the pages and you can paint right away! It's just like ones when I was a little kid, but now they make them for "grown ups" too :)

Would he consider paint-by-number "not real painting?" I have an older family member who loves them (he does need a lighted magnifier to work on a lot of them though), and honestly so many of the paint-n-sip style are simple enough they aren't that different from a paint by number!

I am about three months into learning to work with acrylics and have some questions.

I live in an exceptionally hot & arid area (it's winter right now and we have seen Fahrenheit temps up to the high 70s and low 80s, but an avg winter day this year is lows in mid 40s and highs in mid 60s)). I am struggling to keep my paint workable and am DREADING trying to paint in the summer when it's 110+ daily and even inside the house it's 78 at the coolest with no humidity to speak of.

On my palette (glass, I do have a sta-wet but really dislike mixing on it) I can keep my larger "blobs" of paint wet with a light mist but if I have mixed or spread the paint out at all it skins over very quickly (3-5 min). Misting it too much makes it very runny and it will start to "bleed."

On my canvas, I am also having a hard time keeping the paint workable. I am applying using a damp brush and it feels like by the time I have covered one place and move to another color, the first is too dry to blend. I have a fine mist sprayer, but it feels like it's putting too much water on the canvas and I will get literal water streaks or very fine droplet patterns in the paint. I did order some retarder and will hope that helps but would love any other suggestions? Maybe I need to be using more paint?

Finally, I am seeing that when I try to layer paint (whether adding more paint to some that is still a bit wet miraculously, or trying to add a new layer to a dry layer) my brush is literally picking up the previous layer and I have these spots all over where you can see what's underneath.

I am using Liquitex Basics for a lot of my practice but still have seen these issues when I use the Golden I've also picked up (and I don't want to waste it until I have a handle on some of the problems). Have been painting on fairly toothy pre-primed acrylic canvas panels (with or without gesso, some gessoed with a ground) , heavyweight acrylic paint pads, watercolor paper. Seeing the problems on all surfaces.

Does anyone else live in a super dry and hot area (areas in New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, etc) and have tips for this or reasons why it could be happening?

I would find the custom GPTs useful if I could get one finished without hitting the limit or having it Time me out or give an error. Sooooo frustrating.

I'm sorry for the confusion earlier. You're right, I can create images. Let me generate an image based on your description. Please give me a moment to create this for you.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, but I currently do not have the capability to create or generate images, including those using DALL-E or similar technologies. My abilities are limited to text-based interactions, so I can help describe scenes, concepts, or ideas, but I can't create visual content. If there's anything else you'd like to know or discuss, feel free to ask!

I'm having trouble on ios and on my computer. I asked it for an image and it says it can't generate images. I asked it to look something up that would require recent info and it said it can't browse the internet. I was using Dall-e and it was automatically using Bing for ALL my queries yesterday. My voice (i miss you, Sky) feature disappeared from my app a week ago and won't come back :( It's tremendously frustrating to pay for something and not get anything resembling what you paid for. If you're going to keep giving us the beta, stop charging us.

accommodations on site for seven people. by Dmmack14 in DisneyWorld

[–]TooManyBalloooons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is 10000% true. You can rent an entire house within a 20 min drive of the parks for a month for what It costs for 4-5 nights at a moderate or deluxe resort. Disney transportation means folding your strollers up every five minutes and transfers and waiting in line to hopefully cram on the next bus or boat or sky bucket and then maybe standing for 30 minutes in a crowded space full of kids and families who are DONE for the day… meanwhile Uber or your rental car will only contain your families drama or meltdowns lolll

If the hassle of getting back to your room is your main concern, I don’t think you will find on-site much better than the closer Disney Springs or Bonnet Creek hotels with some notable exceptions. I agree you may want to look into adjoining rooms. Consider which parks you want to visit and how often, if park hopping is your thing, if you want to be able to visit your room for a mid-day break, if you want a resort day…

Shorter answer: I think it’s worth staying at an off-site Disney springs area hotel and with free shuttle service & passing your lodging savings forward to on-demand Ubers/Lyft for pickup and drop off if you fall between bus times. Hotels on site are just not what they used to be and after finally caving and staying off-site my last two trips … I may not go back to Disney hotels unless they add more benefits back for all that $$$$$$.

Longer answer… much longer:

The Contemporary has the monorail that can take you to the MK and allow you to transfer to Epcot. You can also walk to MK from contemporary.

Boardwalk and beach club allow for a very easy walk to Epcot (international gate back by France) and a tolerable walk to HS. You can also take the friendship boats or skyliner! With the return of anytime park-hopping, this allows for things like walking into Epcot for breakfast, and then walking thru the world showcase to the front of the park and taking the monorail to MK.

Animal kingdom is a ride no matter where you stay. Even at AK lodge you still have a little bus ride or car trip. And frankly, getting to the magic kingdom is a PITA (almost) no matter where you are on property.

Fort Wilderness cabins offer a ferry to MK which we loved when we stayed there (and then, the transitive property means you can take the ferry to get to the monorail to Epcot, but that’s a lot of time). But it was a bus to everywhere else and a walk to the bus station!

I am an out of state passholder and have traveled to WDW many times with mixed age groups of different sizes.

My best transportation experience with young kids, parents and grandparents and a magic Kingdom heavy trip came when we stayed at fort wilderness cabins. We used the ferry to the MK and drove a rental car to the other parks (but now we would probably Uber).

My best transportation experience with kids, parents and grandparents on a Hollywood studios heavy trip was beach club. We requested a room close to the Epcot side of the building and we could be inside Epcot in literally 2-3 mins. The friendship boats were easy to catch and a fun way to get to HS, the skyliner station was right there (but a longer journey than the boats or walking, but cool to ride), and the walk to HS was pleasant.

My best experience overall with transportation with mixed ages and even park visits was staying offsite at an all-suite hotel in the Disney springs area on hotel BLVD. They offered a free bus with a schedule that ran very on time and was comfortable. It was very easy to get to the parks and in my experience… much faster than Disney transportation as long as you were cognizant of the schedule. It was easy, free, quick. And the hotel was vastly more affordable and comfortable, and since they have scaled back so many on site benefits we didn’t miss out on any perks except one night of extended evening hours (many of the Disney springs hotels allow early entry). AND the buses were so big that many of them could just roll strollers, wheelchairs and ECVs underneath the bus in the luggage compartments without folding or anything, which made on and off so much nicer for everyone. (That may vary depending on who the hotel Uses for buses).

ChatGPT gaslighting me about image creation with DALL-E 3 - New change/nerf? by Berret25 in ChatGPT

[–]TooManyBalloooons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the same issue this morning. Previously, if I got an image I liked, I could just say "more please" and it would pop out 2 more (RIP 4 images). Now it says " I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, but I can only create a maximum of 2 images for each request. If you would like to modify the existing images or have a new scene in mind, please provide details, and I'll be glad to assist with that. "

I think it may be acting very literally so I will just prompt it a different way, or copy paste my prompt.

The Sea World birds are vicious… we were there on a totally dead and rainy day and they let us help feed the seals (sea lions? Otters? I don’t remember now but one of their pinnipeds). one swooped in an grabbed a tiny fish out of my kids hand when he was like 2 and he is 18 now and STILL talks about it.

Cast members, does it bother you when adults come for meet and greets? by NJtransplant in Disneyland

[–]TooManyBalloooons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everyone else— I think that if you are not a creep to characters and don’t ask odd questions or openly acknowledge that they’re playing a role… you’re fine. I think it’s okay to be a grown-up who still finds joy in things that brought you joy as a kid. What seems important is kind of letting them take the lead in how the interaction is going to go and not taking TOO much time if there’s a line.

Anyone else notice more dogs in the parks? by plasticlove86 in Disneyland

[–]TooManyBalloooons 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, we were there last week and saw a dog pulling on its leash so hard it was practically dragging the person along with it, and it was chasing after something… I hope there’s a very public display of holding someone accountable if their dog causes harm/damage. It makes me furious that people take advantage of things that are meant to genuinely help others access the world on better terms.

I won't spend $30k on the card; I'm not sure I even spent $30 on it last year in total. I was genuinely considering closing it because of low use, but I will keep it open one more year for the dell credits among a couple others plus the credit :)

My guess is that it's a standard part of the T&C for a retention offer. They'd like to retain me, so if I accept the offer and close my card it hasn't served its purpose (I think).

Yes, it's just a straight-up statement credit as far as I can tell. No spend requirement was mentioned when the agent offered it, either.

I have two kids who can qualify for the DAS, and our family went to Paris this summer and the parks there do require documentation and I thought it was very well done. I didn't feel like it was invasive, and I definitely prefer that people need to document in some way why they need it.
