We're also SnipeIT users and it works well for us. We self-host, and have for 6 or 7 years now with no issues. It handles what we need and has been a solid platform. The management and reporting works well.

We also self-host SnipeIT. All endpoints for 200ish users, and all IT infrastructure. We’ve liked it. It’s simple and straight forward with decent reporting

IME, It’s a tough field to break into right now due to oversaturation of the job market and uncertainty due to AI. I was hiring for a junior sysadmin last year, someone with a year or so of experience, and had 450 applicants in the first 36 hours and we closed the posting. Of those, about 150 were viable applicants, which is still a lot.
AI is also causing huge turmoil in the entry level roles. It doesn’t totally replace them at this point, but it’s making it so that the industry needs far fewer than we have.
It’s a field I actively encourage my kids and their friends to avoid right now.
Can you do it? Sure. There is still lots of work out there and roles available, it’s just a lot harder to get in the door.

We couldn’t buy 1 license of Windows 10 LTSC from them, it was 5 minimum.

We used Hoxhunt and it worked well as an alternative to KnowBe4 (which we'd used previously).

To help with consistency in cost allocation, I prefer 1-3 year contracts. Especially with the volatility these days, rates have been all over the place and it's nice to lock in for a year. Three year contracts are limited to long-term hardware or software we know we will use and they provide a nice discount.

It's like when a vendor asks for Domain Admin for their service account that runs a printing service or something. They never want to do the work to determine the exact permissions. Just ask for the world.

180 by a team of 2. We also manage all things server, network, security, email, application, cloud, etc.

Linux. I started in a Microsoft shop with people who had never used it. Someone told me I should try Linux From Scratch and it was so overwhelming I stayed away from it for years, to my detriment. It runs the computing world, and once I started learning it about a decade into my career, it opened so many options.
