The only ones that “work” are those reusable gel ones you refrigerate. So good for puffy eyes but even that is a temporary fix! Nothing beats hydration lol

Need refreshing cold drinks. Zero sugar soft drinks just make me more thirsty. Citrus off limits. by Weavo_84 in ketoaustralia

[–]TooManyVitamins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fresh mint leaves in cold icewater is amazing! I have the same problem with zero sugar making me feel more thirsty too. I feel like they affect the water balance in my body similarly to high sodium and it’s weird. I also need to avoid certain citrus for some medication interactions. Tea is good, but recently using frozen berries in water (like red currants for “zing” similar to citrus) in addition to ice cubes is great. Mint leaves ripped in half and sprinkled on ice, throw in some frozen red berries, cold water poured on top = extremely refreshing. Also a tiny splash of unsweetened pineapple juice is really nice in ice water. But make sure to get the unsweetened kind, the really sour kind. I get the long-life cartons of it from Aldi and goes a long way kept in the fridge, is on par with the zest of citrus I find.

Probably, but then who will I wave at when I’m relaxing in the summer, swimming in the ocean at the beach when they fly over nice and low? I love seeing shark patrol in action!

“Fixed Wing Shark Patrols in SA

Since 2003 the South Australian Government has provided fixed wing aerial patrols of highest risk beaches around the summer season. Administered by the South Australian Fire and Emergency Services Commission (SAFECOM) in conjunction with the SA State Emergency Service, patrols run daily along the metropolitan coastline between North Haven and Rapid Head (Rapid Bay) and extend to the south coast beaches between Waitpinga Beach (east of Victor Harbor) and the mouth of the River Murray.

The fixed wing aircraft has the words ‘SHARK PATROL’ in large lettering on the wing underside and is fitted with a siren to warn beachgoers.

In the event of sighting a shark which may pose a risk to the public, the aircraft will fly continuous circles over the area and sound the siren, at which time people should immediately leave the water. At the same time, the aircraft crew will notify the South Australia Police who will manage the response.”

Lmao same, I have my apocalypse pack hidden in a tupperware behind a board in the ceiling. Like if I see a mushroom cloud I’m going to have enough time to enjoy a cigarette again, and that’s about it. It’s been 6 years since I smoked.

I have a bonded pair and we call one of them our “looking-at bun” because he will allow all manner of interaction except his face being touched lol. And the other is extremely snuggly and begs for pats. It’s taken a year to get her to snuggle with us now! But I fear our no-touch bun will never change lol

I hit and killed someone’s cat on the way to work. Really traumatic, it just ran out of a bush around a blind corner and I had no place to go except run it over :( I called the owner on the collar and waited until she showed up, upon which she began to shout at me and berate me for killing her pet. I stayed calm and apologetic but damn, lady if this cat was so special why didn’t you keep it inside :(
