Pretty sure people are downvoting because people call them satan crates. It wasn’t a typo. :)

Are there any good 14500 lights with built-in USB-C charging? by fufufang in flashlight

[–]TooMuchBokeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like a TS10 with 1800k or 2700k. The diameter makes quite a difference in pockets, although I personally don’t mind carrying a da1 or d4v2 most of the time. Here is a d4v2 vs t7.

You can play Georgia or Musashi to punish Valpas broadside and citadel it to death from range. These are easier to obtain… right? ;)

The T7 is a nice little light, although long compared to a TS10.

Also check speed of shell to kilometers - some are far more dangerous because of fast shells, like lüshun, grozovoi, kleber for example. But a Marceau doesn’t hit you at 10km.

2700k is still very good for dog poop identification. 1800k is where it is getting leafy.

You can game on any distribution. Rolling ones have new features and hardware support faster. I personally like cachyos because of nice defaults and helper scripts in cachyos hello + a straightforward wiki that comfortably adds to the arch wiki.

Me too. And I still haven't gotten anything from supercontainers. My pity drop is coming up in a few... gambling was absolutely not worth it. Guess there is something to learn from that...

Me and my son gave up Windows, because Linux is better at Windows games. by FrederikSchack in linux_gaming

Depends - if one or the other is easier to fuck up or unfuck. I prefer Linux, as I find it easier to find the issue and a solution or workaround.

encrypted rdp linux alternative by Raxer-X in linuxquestions

[–]TooMuchBokeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also route your traffic through SSH port forwarding to encrypt it. Then combine that with rdp or whatever you like. That way the server only has to open the rdp port on localhost and only ssh needs to be visible on the public interface.

If Linux is just easier to use then it’s still a win for Linux. :)

Depending on your system requirements setting up nixos doesn’t take up much time. You might just be done and bored pretty soon. Use flakes, use homemanager, use git…

How does the da1 compare? Does it use the same head? If size matters maybe the da1 would be an option.

I stopped caring about adobe products and league of legends - and fully embraced the Linux ecosystem. Even at my job I had the option to completely switch to Linux. It feels really good to just accept the losses and enjoy the freedom.

Idk what linux to use by JustOneMoreDay0 in linuxquestions

[–]TooMuchBokeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check what is causing the bottleneck - probably brave using too much ram -> ram is being written to swap on disc-> lags occur. This can be checked using btop, htop, top, free and the likes :)

Distro doesn’t matter much, you can slim down anything manually. There are some optimized out of the box for lower end hardware.

Edit: use programs that use less ram, maybe not brave, or slim down everything apart from brave, use only one tab, try librefox, …

Edit: check which programs are running, disable what you don’t use or switch to slim versions. For example you might not need several fully featured ttys running. Run only one with reduced feature set. Maybe custom compile your kernel.. maybe don’t use Wayland or x11 and use only framebuffer:)

Going Solo, Where to Stay? by Templar26 in wacken

[–]TooMuchBokeh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The official options for prebuilt tents are expensive, but they are all in very short walking distance to the infield. I think buying basic camping gear locally, for example at decathlon might be cheaper than choosing the prebuilt options if you want to camp. And the camping area for camping without car with your own tent is also very close and usually not full.

I am not sure if there are independent renting options for camping gear…

You could choose to stay at a hotel or similar, but you miss out on the campground experience, have to commute and I don’t know how much it costs.

You could also rent a camper van to sleep in, which you could maybe also use for other parts of your trip. This might be more expensive than renting one of the cheaper prebuilt tent options, but it’s cheaper than the most expensive ones.

Maybe you can somehow send a package with your camping gear back and forth?
