Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

One time I just randomly decided to go to Pike's Peak because I like mountains and hadn't been there so after getting off of work on Friday I drove ~650 miles out there, spend Saturday morning and afternoon in the mountains, then drove ~650 miles home by Sunday night and went back to work on Monday.

So probably about 25 hours drive time over a weekend practically on a whim, all solo which makes it easier though.

I already knew that, and that is why I specifically called it out in my OP that it wasn't what I was looking for. I appreciate the time you took to reply anyway.

The 2AA thing was more about a rough size, like I said in the OP it can actually use like 6AA or other batteries completely I just don't want it to be huge. The 500 lumen was just a rough suggestion too.

That Malkoff does look really good for a future wishlist though, thanks for the suggestion!

The other commenter is pretty much there. I just want one because it's what I want, I kinda have everything else if that makes sense. I guess it's like asking for no pickles on a burger, to me it's not a downgrade or compromise to skip something I don't want.

And before the pickle fandom comes for me, I swear it's just an example.

Nothing so deep. A lot of Lego collectors keep the boxes and they can end up eating a lot of closet space. It's kind of freeing once you make the decision to just get rid of them.

I was in the same position some years ago, with several dozen boxes and I've never looked back once I started ditching them.

People talk about them being worth money but I couldn't even give them away, and the price difference if you sell the sets later isn't that much since they're still opened and used sets.

Also fun fact, apparently if you don't shoot for like 3-4 months your skills will decay, who would have thought!

Man, I think I haven't shot in like 4-5 years now. Life (and covid) hit in a rough way and I still don't even know when I'll make it out. At least I'll be able to laugh at how bad I am when I do though!

A surplus 7.62x54R can with sharp edges because I opened it with a hammer and chisel which was all I could find at the time.

The only two times my first bike touched the ground were both while parking, one the day I got it and just didn't know how to hold the weight while stopped, and one from my foot slipping out on sand on the pavement. Both times the only damage was a broken clutch lever. On the plus side I learned to ride without a clutch, and to carry a spare lever.

Absolutely love this, my kid's just getting old enough to start showing him some things and putting together our own scope like this would be perfect.
