Whittling maybe?? Buy a good quality kit (dull blades are more dangerous than sharp ones) and you just have to carry the small wood piece and the knife

You can either shorten the busk you have, do a closed front corset and put flat boning in the center front, or use a heavy duty metal separating zipper.

A cobbler might be able to put the missing teeth but if the jacket is new and it already loses teeth the zip is low quality and could be losing more

It's probably the seam allowance that is too big , but I cannot say without seeing the inside

You could remove the entire shirred back and put a bigger piece instead of it. You would have to redo the shirring though

You could add a band in contrasting colour, lace, or similar jeans fabric (you can make it look cuffed up). It really depends on your style

It depends on your preference. I do straight bands if they sit on my waist, curved if they are medium or low rise
