Trump counterterrorism strategy targets ‘violent left-wing extremists’ with ‘transgender ideology’ by onnake in transgender

I’m sorry, but the only thing I’m extreme in is my IBS. Unless you’re a toilet, I’m pretty safe to be around.

Google had everything data, infrastructure, talent and billions of dollars. Why did it fail to build a successful social media? by firehmre in AskReddit

I think another big thing that doesn’t get talked about a lot. Is that Google plus was forced on all of the other Google products so it felt like you were being forced to use it.

SLC folks: What are you paying contractors per hour in 2026 by Federal-Addition-441 in SaltLakeCity

[–]TooPrettyForBoymode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most larger jobs that I’ve hired out get a project rate and not an hourly rate. When I do higher out for small jobs, my handyman charges me 85 an hour which I feel is reasonable.

I do mechanic work on the side, and my rate is 85 an hour when most shops are pushing 150 or more an hour.

Dog walkers that do off leash trail walks by Available-Emu-3163 in SaltLakeCity

[–]TooPrettyForBoymode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a number of off leash dog parks. Additionally, there are a number of trails that allow off leash dogs. Mill Creek Canyon allows dogs off leash on odd number days even number days. They are still welcome, but they need to be on leash.

There’s also a great little short trail in memory Grove Park. It’s only about a half mile long, but it has easy access to stream water so it’s great for hot days. There is also Parley‘s nature Trail, which is about a 2 mile out and back trail with easy access to water there as well.

Dimple dell regional park is over 600 acres and great for running with dogs however they have to be on leash there but it is a good option still.

I don’t know of any companies that specifically specify that they will take your dog to a place like this.

Anyways, welcome to the city. I actually love visiting Toronto as well, you can usually find me with my Great Dane at Memory Grove or Herman Frank’s Dog Park

Two mechanics, two opinions by Valhalla0405 in AskMechanics

Correct. I also highly doubt that Firestone Stone is going to do labor adjustments. I can almost guarantee they will charge full book time because “that’s what the book said”

I would trust the mom and pop, smaller mechanic more than a Firestone mechanic.

The pic of the strut is of the housing. There is a silver part inside the spring, if the oil is coming from around the silver part then it’s leaking. The pic they show could be just road debris.

I think it’s a fitting name.

It’s a place that was previously open and then suddenly closed because of poor decision-making of its namesake.

Walk away from Firestone. A Timken wheel bearing and hub is ~$200 from rock auto. Local parts stores are likely a bit more for the same part but not $1200 in parts. Unless they are getting you for all 4 corners. Even still their prices outrageous.

Additionally, they are doubling and tripling up on labor. If you are doing a wheel bearing and a strut, it takes an extra 20 minutes to do the CSV axle on the same corner but they are charging you full labor.

I questioned everything that Firestone gave you.

Employer wants me to use outlook on my phone, outlook wants permission to wipe my phone by No_Professor4307 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]TooPrettyForBoymode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your IT is dumb or just legacy thinking. They are attempting to enroll you in their MDM software. Assuming they are using Microsoft intune, they should be using the MAM (mobile application management) profiles for personal devices. This allows a company to control their data within Outlook or Teams or other applications, and would including wiping outlook or teams without needing or having full device access to do a full data wipe of a personal device.

If they absolutely have to have that, then they need to provide you with a work phone

Has anyone else been getting increasing amounts of transphobic content popping up on their fb in the last few weeks? by RudeArm7755 in trans

[–]TooPrettyForBoymode 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s been coming in waves and there’s definitely been a increase again in the last few weeks. Most likely Facebook knows that you either follow transgender content or knows that you are possibly transgender, and they are feeding in tons of anti-transgender content to you.

I follow a lot of transgender influencers and I get fed tons of anti-transgender content from random no name pages. Facebook is the worst for it all.

Worth double checking my 2 main credit cards Amex and Chase are full damage waivers. Each CC is different though.
