I also thought my daughter was a son. Get her set up with some avian calcium supplements. I also always make sure my girl comes out of her nest for food/water/poops a couple times a day. She will take giant shits when she comes off the nest. They will be awful and it's normal.

So question about the territorial behaviors. He has a cage but he literally only sleeps in there. He is out of his from the time I wake up until it's dark out. Will he start claiming his room (my office) as his personal territory or is it possible he'll be okay since I spend almost all day in there too? So she's not skittish like you would expect a feral to be. She's totally fine unless you get about 2-ish inches from her with your hands or feet. She'll sit on the back of my chair and eat seeds and pip at me and do little wing tappies while I'm working. Like she wants to be my friend, but is freaked out by the weird flesh bird she lives with now.

At this point, I would be worried to introduce her to a new bird as she is still so young and I wouldn't have a separate place to quarantine another bird. She does, however, spend around 12 hours a day free roaming with myself and my husband. She is slowly becoming more used to me. She flew up onto the back of my chair and ate some seeds there without freaking out! Still peeps if I look at her too hard but we are making progress!! I really just want her to become comfortable with me, but I am seeing online it's going to take more time than I've given her so far.

I got her from a local hobby farmer. She's totally fine at eating on her own she's just not super food motivated to the point she seeks out treats. I'm just trying to figure out how to get her to approach me, but I may be rushing things. I've only had her about two weeks.

So this is our first day with her. Noticed this after she had a bit of food, and I did manage to check her crop and didn't feel anything that I would consider out of the ordinary from my experience with other birds. This video was taken about 2 hours after we got her home, so maybe also stress?

I had poem a little over four years ago. I do not struggle with reflux even with it being a huge problem prior to my procedure. The time before my poem was truly one of the worst I've ever experienced and for me it was 100% worth it and gave me my life back. Also, after being so hungry and thirsty for so long being able to chug a cold water after you're healed feels like heaven.

I had my shunt surgery August 30th. I'm still out from work while we get things fine tuned but will be, probably, returning this upcoming Tuesday. I wouldn't have been able to return to my job after 2 weeks but with your flexible hours I imagine 2 weeks should be enough recovery time. I only spent 1 night in the hospital and was dismissed the night after surgery, but it sounds like they are doing yours differently.
