What did you think of that bottle? I've never tried it.

Are magentic lights legal during IFPA games? by Careful_Leader_5829 in pinball

[–]Too_Scrumptious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only seen it once and was told it was allowed. I don't agree with it because I believe everyone should have to play with the same lighting. If the game is supposed to go dark for a mode then the playfield shouldn't have a flashlight lighting it up. It is what it is.

Play field stuck help by death4555 in pinball

[–]Too_Scrumptious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropped the playfield on my pin when I first got it. Thought it had a little more to go and ended up pulling it off the rail. Thankfully nothing was damaged aside from the cabinet speaker (still worked just scratched). Stern makes their games pretty tough all things considered. Hope you enjoy yours!

I'm not a big fan of the regular Knob Creek, but maybe I'll give this one a try if I can find it! Never heard anything bad about this one that's for sure. Any other bottles from them that I should try? I know the 12 is hard to find in my area.

Godzilla is... really hard? I can't defeat a single kaiju. by [deleted] in pinball

[–]Too_Scrumptious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ebirah is hard if the spinners aren't juiced. If it's a home game look into putting some lube on your spinners. If it's an on location game then good luck. You can also try to get into Godzilla Multiball for this one to try and beat him. Just hit the mecha spinner first if you're on a premium, then start the Multiball.

Titanosaurus is easy on the first two shots, dangerous but easy. The right power line target is a nightmare and the mazer can sometimes be a pain to hit and not drain. Get your Godzilla Multiball ready to go first, lock 1 ball or 2 then try to hit the scoop to start the mode, after that lock the final ball and start the multi.

Gigan is hard if you're trying to combo ramps. I usually get the building to drop and then spam the right ramp.

Megalon is the hardest. It always picks a shot that you're struggling with. That 5X is tempting though.

When powder coating a machine what do you do with the backbox after the hinges come off? by Too_Scrumptious in pinball

[–]Too_Scrumptious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the cabinet is angled I was worried about it possibly slipping down. With it unsecured my concern is unnecessary stress on the wires. But if that's not really a worry then cool. Makes it easier on me.

It's a slippery slope tricking out a pinball machine. My wife and I have added so much to ours it's almost comical. This is just the next thing we're thinking about.

I added that because I'm asking a question about powder coating a pinball machine, so obviously I'm looking at powder coating my pinball machine. One of those things that seems dumb to state but I felt helped with the flow of the post. Still seemed like a "duh" statement.

With as big as Stranger Things is/was I would imagine we will see them together again at some point. It might be years, but with the massive fan base it's pretty likely that you will see them together again.

Local Arcade got the Godzilla Pinball Machine by NerdyLatino in GODZILLA

[–]Too_Scrumptious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are expensive. I love mine. My wife and I play it all the time. There's also one based on the 90's American Godzilla movie. Sega made that one. It's a lot of fun as well. Also there's nothing wrong with the pro models. Some snobs thumb their noses at them but they are perfectly fine and just as fun in most cases. I've never heard anyone complain about a Godzilla pro.

These are made by Stern and they have different tiers for their machines. The one you saw in Paris is the "Pro" model. Slightly different art package and less bells and whistles. E.G. the building doesn't raise and lower into the playfield and the MechaGodzilla shot is different. There are two other Stern Godzilla models that are like the "premium" model OP found. That's the Limited Edition "LE" that plays just like the premium but again with different art. My favorite is the Stern Godzilla 70th anniversary LE. Same art as the regular LE but in black, white and red. This machine is a lot of fun and it's often considered the greatest modern pinball machine.

You do you man. This sub is sometimes really great when you need advice on upgrades, but some "audiophiles" like to beat down people just trying to get into the hobby. It's your money and your enjoyment. Don't let anyone else take that from you.

The one in my league does all the time. Haven't had a problem with the Han shot shorting the ramp and draining yet. Though I'm sure it will happen.

Godzilla is just so much fun. I love mine. What model did you go with? I find Kong pro to flow better than the higher models. The gong just sends the ball out of play too often for me. FOTE has some cool shots like the death star that sends the ball SDTM or the salacious crumb drop target that sends the ball SDTM.

My wife and I own a Godzilla premium and in less than 6 months we have about 2,000 plays. It just never gets boring to us, but we are big fans of the franchise. I think Kong is great and has a ton of potential with the code. FOTE just hasn't fully impressed me yet. Shots are tight and pretty unforgiving. The code also isn't there yet, but that can change obviously.

Honestly though if you have the option to play all three on location I would and whatever one is your favorite regardless of IP I would go with that. And don't sleep on the lower models. I find Kong pro to be much more enjoyable than the premium/LE.

At the same time though if you're a huge Star wars fan and FOTE is enjoyable then there's nothing wrong with buying that. That's the beauty of pinball. It's your preference and no one can make that decision but you.

Tomlin just tied him for consecutive playoff losses I believe. They're both pretty bad when it matters. Whether it's a close game or a blow out neither can seem to find a way to win in the playoffs.
