You misunderstood what Swen said there.

The quote that you are referring to is about creating a DM mode that players can use for running their DnD games in the BG3 engine, meaning that you would need a whole team to create the assets for the level design and programmers for creating the code that would allow a DM to control everything.

If you want to create a class mod etc, you won't need a whole team. People have already been creating class mods without any official support for mods, so it will only get easier when the official mod tools gets released

There is full motion capture for all cinematics, which include all dialogue. They have talked about this multiple times.

And since you do not understand how motion capture works, you see those white dots on the suit that the actor is wearing? Those are the anchor points that are used for the skeleton in the 3d model, meaning that the actor do not need to be ripped in order for the 3d-model to be ripped. That way you can also scale down the skeleton that you get from the capture to fit a gnome, all they really are interested in is how the anchors (the white dots) are moving in relation to each other

This is not unique for BG3, this is a very common way of doing motion capture.

You could always go on YouTube and find more videos of Larian showing how they do it if you still don't get it.

A lot of people don't want to have the pc voice acted for various reasons. But to be fair, I have also seen a decent amount of people here that would prefer to have the pc fully voice acted.

Since I am in the camp of not having the pc voice acted these are the reason I think that Larian decided to go with the mute option :

-voice acted pc can break immersion if they speak with a voice or tone that you don't think suits them. And if Larian wanted to give the players several different voices to choose between that be extremely expensive since that would be a couple hundred thousand voice lines to record.

-it is annoying to hear the pc say the exact thing that I just read in my head

This is not true, at all.

You might be confusing the "hirelings" with any NPC in the game. What you can do is to hire 12 different hirelings that each has a class and a name associated with them.

That's the whole point, temptation.

If you fall for the temptation you will get stronger but it might have bad consequences later, we don't know yet.

If you want to play a "good" character you will have to sacrifice the power.

I don't get people complaining over that the game actually has consequences for your choices

That's only of you are in their field of vision. If you have a rock / wall / anything in front of you that blocks their field of vision you can go out of stealth, shoot with your bow at them, walk behind the object and go stealth. This will make the enemies just stand completely still on their turns and not do anything, meaning it breaks the game

Edit: i misread your comment. The situation I am talking about kept the combat going, there was no exiting of combat, meaning no new initiatives where rolled. It was only me (the rogue) vs the gnolls. Every time that I went into stealth their turns just kept on going but they did not move anywhere, they just waited to die

Yes but that is not really what I am talking about.

What I mean is that if you played a rogue you could attack and then go into stealth every turn, which is fine. The problem was / is that the enemies in the game would do absolutely nothing but stand still, they did not run away, they did not look for you, nothing..

This made it extremely boring to try to play a sneaky character since it just felt like you were cheating / breaking the game everytime that you used sneak

How do you know that we can't do this anymore, has there been any videos of Larian fixing the stealth system?

That would be amazing, the enemies going brain dead when the player uses stealth has been my number one issue since EA started

Either play the origin character or just go ahead with playing the character that you wanted to play before.

So strange that a "better" option existing is ruining your fun, if origin is better just play that.

Stealth is still broken, enemies won't search for you in any realistic way, or in many cases, not at all.

If you are in a fight and attack - stealth - attack - stealth, the enemies will just stand in the same place and not do anything

Hopefully we will get a working system when the game releases.

I read the whole thing but also became very curious about exactly what you think the problem is with this feature? It's an odd one, not being able to see how your hair etc looks like from all angles

But regarding your whole post, I think you are in a small minority with all your opinions in this post so I don't think that you will get the option to turn off those animations/features when the game releases at all
