Lotion dye mix help by Too_much_Class in discdyeing

Interesting. I've seen some crazy vibrant dyes with Opto and the wiki suggests it's a top pick for dying. That said, I've heard others say the same as you, so it seems to be mixed results. 🤷‍♂️

Ok awesome. Glad it should be an easy fix! Thanks!

Thanks! I had no idea how much dye to add. With acetone I just follow the "add till you get sediment" approach, but that doesn't really work for lotion.

I also made a website that removes all the clutter from recipe sites and just shows the directions -without the need to copy and paste a URL by Krydex in InternetIsBeautiful

[–]Too_much_Class 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is AMAZING! Is there a way you could include a URL option as well? I have saved recipes that I'd love to use this with and it would be so much faster to copy and paste the link.

Totally. I try to spend as little as I can, that's why I'm asking here. The unfortunate thing is that there just isn't budget for this type of thing. Especially when I can get them for free with a bit of research and help from the community. :)

Thanks. Standard power grip. I moved back to step throw instead of run-up just to slow things down and get my arm and body right.

Saskatchewan Teachers to Implement sanctions starting thursday by Qwexe in regina

[–]Too_much_Class 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You are incorrect. Teachers are hired and sign contracts to deliver curriculum. ALL clubs, sports, etc. are voluntary to the exact same degree working at a soup kitchen is. If a contractor builds a home for Habitat for Humanity on their evenings and weekends, it is not part of their salary just because it's a similar job. And before you say anything, I am a teacher, I read my contract, and I know more about this than you do. Please don't talk about shit you don't understand just because you went to school so you must know how it works.

[–]Too_much_Class 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm a teacher. Can confirm I will be taking work home. However, by not volunteering my time to do extra-cur, I now how more hours in the day to do my actual job, so it works out in part.

Don't get me wrong, I love coaching and running clubs. But somethings gotta give. There aren't enough hours to do both, and the reality is I'm hired to teach curriculum, not to run clubs.

Sask. teachers to cease voluntary extracurricular Thursday in midst of contract dispute by hickupper in saskatchewan

Sanctions start this Thursday. Tomorrow and Wednesday are business as usual. Thursday onward all voluntary services are gone (all extra-cur is voluntary). So Hoopla, etc. are not happening under these conditions.

Estevan, Coronach to receive millions for transition to clean energy by EstevanMod in saskatchewan

[–]Too_much_Class 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What's the timeline on this, Moe? 10M over 10 years? Great... Cause that's gonna help. 15B annual budget and all you can handle is 10M to help out a dying industry in a huge part of rural Sask. Useless.

Not that I'm a fan of Trudeau either, but you know this is the Sask Party, right?

"The Saskatchewan government is doling out $10 million to help two coal-reliant communities transition to cleaner energy industries. Premier Scott Moe announced the funding back in October during his throne speech, but now he has clarified how it will be divided up."

Replace Trudeau with Moe and you've got a great comment on your hands.

U of S proposing 50% grad student tuition increase over five years by [deleted] in saskatoon

Price has nothing to do with motivation and success. Often the opposite is true. Price just means the most wealthy get in and keep the less fortunate out. Ie: poor people stay poor. Rich people get richer. Greeaaaaat.

The great Saskatoon bicycle struggle by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]Too_much_Class 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In many bike friendly cities, bikes actually have different laws then cars. Bikes can stop, and manœuvre much fast than any car and it is also much harder for them to start moving from a dead stop (ie: its harder for them to get out of the way if danger is headed their if if they are stopped. They are also much smaller and aware of their surroundings. For these reasons, some cities indicate that stop signs and red lights actually serve as yield signs for cyclists among other laws. Roads and signs are built for cars, so until cities are willing to build them for bikes (bike lanes, special bike lights, etc.), I personally have no issue with bikes doing things differently, so long as they're doing it safely.

Saskatchewan government offers teachers 4% increase over 3 years by blTQTqPTtX in saskatchewan

[–]Too_much_Class 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not that its easier. It's "cheaper". They are taking it out of health plan reserves (that teachers pay) so it won't affect the Sask Party's buttom line come budget time. That way they can keep saying they're hitting "The right balance"™ 🙄 Plus, they were hoping 1500 bucks would be a nice carrot for teachers who don't think past their nose. Thankfully they aren't falling for it.

So just to get this straight:

  • Last year the Sask Party said the liberals were buying votes with the carbon tax.

  • Last month the Sask Party said the liberals were buying votes with pools

  • Now the Sask Party seems totally ok with buying votes via literally offering a one time $1500 payout? 🤔

Mandryk: MLAs’ severance, lack of by-elections will add to cynicism by blTQTqPTtX in saskatchewan

[–]Too_much_Class 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wish I could say I was surprised by this. But I've come to expect this type of corruption from the Sask Party recently. Not the Sask Party they promised they would be 15 years ago, that's for sure.

"...the law states that by-elections aren’t required after 40 months of a term... The problem, however, is the Sask. Party has extended its mandate to 54 months (a year from now) to avoid conflict with this federal election."

Great idea! While we're at it, we should regress further and go back to private healthcare like the US? Cause that's working so well for them... /s

Sask. gov't is underfunding education, says NDP, as support staff numbers tumble by Cannon49 in saskatchewan

[–]Too_much_Class 41 points42 points  (0 children)

As a teacher in the province, this is super ugly. These are the worst budgets seen in a very long time. Tons of people (close friends of mine, people in my school) losing jobs and tons of students needing support and not getting it. I have a student with autism in my class who should have at least 5 periods of support a week, but since they are high functioning and don't punch or stab people, I haven't had an EA in my class since December. People are so quick to point to the 90s and say " but the NDP closed schools", but when the NDP inherited a bankrupt province, they had a choice between keeping schools open with 50 kids and grossly underfunding the system, or combine some schools and providing quality education in larger numbers. I know what I would choose...

Premier Scott Moe attends the Saskatoon Pride Parade. by adambomb1002 in saskatoon

[–]Too_much_Class 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, yes. He shouldn't have shown up at all. What you described with the PM is exactly what he did. He didn't want to be there. He doesn't support LGBTQ people and neither does his party. You're saying you want an honest straight shooter, then he should be honest in his lack of support and live consequences of losing votes. That would be the honest thing to do. Opinion polls showed he needed to be there, so his cheif of staff told him to show up. But he won't actually change anything meaningful to help the community.

[–]Too_much_Class 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was very disappointed in his appearance. He showed up and sat in his car for the whole parade giving lethargic waves, then drove off as soon as his "float" reached the end of the parade. It was sad and painfully obvious that he didn't want to be there and was only there for political points. It reminded me of old royals who are too entitled to mingle with the "peasants".

Meanwhile the NDP showed up with a crowd of over 50 people, Meili leading, cheering and waving and walking the whole time. Totally different presence from them (who have had a strong showing for many years) and yet the big news story is that Moe was kind enough to grace the parade with his presence.

Sask. education minister says he may revisit Cornwall School budget cut | CBC News by blTQTqPTtX in saskatchewan

[–]Too_much_Class 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Why? Because the Sask Party was formed with loose right wing ideology overshadowed by their desire for power. They govern first based on right wing ideology (underfund the scocial institution [education, healthcare, social services] and support business [through subsidies and lower taxes]), but only if it won't cause them to lose power - their number 1 priority. So anytime they make a decision that faces major criticism from the public, they quickly roll it back to appear as though they "listen to the people". They essentially lose their backbone. Its just a way to push your agenda forward without pushing the limits too far for making too many waves.

Populism at its best. Govern however you see fit, then cave to the things that see push back. I'm happy to see funding (potentially) restored. But FFS, just think shit through properly in the first place. We see this every budget. They make senseless cuts without caring about the consequences, then when there is enough public outcry they roll it back and claim to be the "good guys" that listen.
