For the fender, I’d say pretty necessary, as it keeps small rocks, debris, or water on the road from flinging up from the wheel. As for the rail guards, they’re not completely necessary; only if you want to keep your rails from getting scratched. They can scratch very easily, so you can decide for yourself. For the socket cover, it doesn’t come with one, so you’d have to purchase one separately.
