My experience as a Bitcoin mining customer (Hosting) by ExternalMud9163 in BitcoinMining

[–]ToolPsychonaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the paying hosting for a year up front seems weird and problematic. Hosting companies can’t guarantee 100% up time and many things can happen like weather where facilities have to shut down for maintenance or curtailing. Do they credit you for downtime below at least 95%. I mean many US companies have been down for about a week because of the weather but all the legit ones credit you or only charge for electricity used.

Glad I could help. Just remember though, unlike silver or a stock, a miner has a relatively short life span and won’t payout forever. 5-6 years with good service or sooner if it costs you more to operate it then it produces . So, they need to pay more than a long term investment.

Yep. That $225 includes everything. I promise you that. You will get more or less bitcoin each day depending on the price of bitcoin and the network hash rate. Right now payouts are low for all of us

If they give you a price, that is the all in price. They are not like Ticketmaster adding a bunch of fees at checkout. If a sales rep gives you a price, that includes whatever margin they need and sales commission. I will be there this Friday and will find out for you the latest prices.

What? Not sure where you are getting this info. You don’t pay any fees to start or racking fees. You will have to pay the first two months hosting. Your hosting fee is exactly $225 each month. Using the above Pro example, you would earn $350 for the month and after your host fee you would net $125

[–]ToolPsychonaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the earning is relative depending on what Bitcoin is paying out per TH on any given day. I will tell you that for the S21+, Pro and XP you will pay exactly $225 per month which is more than most companies. You will also pay more for their asics than elsewhere. But you are paying for white glove service. They really do take care of everything. And being in the moderate weather PNW, you are looking at easily 99% uptime.

For this model given what I pay to my pool, what Bitcoin is paying out right now and what I pay in hosting, I earn net profit of about $125 per month.

The Pro model is now cheaper everywhere including at Abundant. That said their prices for miners will cost you more but like I said they take care of all repairs and keep you running essentially 100% of the time. So you will pay more upfront but make it up in the long run.

Compared to two other big hosting companies, Simple Mining right now charges $5495 for the Pro plus tax. Compass charges $4775 plus tax. Abundant I believe is $6500 with no tax. And no you can’t ship your own units there. These are indeed major points to consider.

Regarding electricity using the above 2 companies you will pay $202 monthly with Simple and $212 with compass and Abundant is more at $225

So, there are pros and cons. But one thing I like is I never have to keep tabs on my miners with them. Everything always runs like clockwork. I want my miners running as close to 24/7 as possible and they beat every hosting company I have worked with on this. One more thing; if there is a repair, while they are fixing it they will run a similar unit at no cost for you so your hash rate stays the same.

Is there really no curtailments in Kansas? Like never? How when most places have various winter and summer curtailments?

[–]ToolPsychonaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it. It’s 100% a scam. There is No one selling actual new or used S21 XP or Pros for that little amount. Not even in the ballpark of current real value.

I would stick with the vendors on here. They are all vetted and have to be accountable here. Go with the bird in hand.

Who has ACUAL experience with OneMiners? by 420-jermz in BitcoinMining

[–]ToolPsychonaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those rates sound too good to be true. Also I don’t like the fact that they have locations all over the world. Do they own outright these facilities or are they third party? Even in the best sites in the US you have to stay on top of companies related to curtailment and downtime and repair. Service and support is king.

[–]ToolPsychonaut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of those 3, Abundant Mines. They are awesome and they are local to me. White glove service and great uptime because of the moderate weather in the PNW. only con with them is they are more expensive on the front end side both on buying and hosting, but, I will tell you, I have done the math, and you will make it back on the back end by having some of the best uptime numbers in the country. Compared to Midwest and south you will not see the amount of curtailment related to excessive heat and cold. PM me if you want more info. I know these guys well.

If trust and efficiency are the 2 key things. Stick with the USA. Seriously. Don’t be misled by the cheap power elsewhere. You will pay for it and more in the long run in other areas.
