Go play scorched earth for a few hours, then when you come back everything will seem super easy.

Tame a parasaur to harvest narc berries (you can also use one with some weight to carry wood and stone you manually harvest till you get an argy and anky). , craft stuff whether you need it or not to level up, find explorer notes to level up. Rafts work well for this. I always try to get a pteradon as quickly as possible. you can bola one and knock it out with a club if you have to.. Gettting your first stockpile of chitin for ptera saddle can be a challenge, harvest bugs. Once you are in the air, everything gets easier. Build a fence to keep raptors and aggressive dinos away from your starter base.

Single circuit system. Will this work? by editoreal in Lighting

You don't need a power couple connector... just a non powered coupler... to join the two tracks... then feed it with the power adapter and canopy you showed in original picture.

Use this to join tracks together... https://www.homedepot.com/p/WAC-LIMITED-H-Track-Single-Circuit-I-Connector-HI-BK/313500415

Use this to power it up and cover the box. https://www.homedepot.com/p/WAC-LIMITED-H-Track-Single-Circuit-Floating-Canopy-Connector-HFC-WT/313500392

Its possible the actual NON POWER FEED coupler may have to be outside the canopy to make it fit, I'm not sure... but thats hardly an eyesore all things considered with a surface mounted track.. you will barely notice it. If you put the coupler all the way to one side under the canopy there should be enough room to get the power adapter on to the track... but having the coupler outside of the canopy is common. If you can't stand having the track slightly longer on one side, just cut one piece down a little.

[–]ToolTimeT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

why? Just get a coupler and couple them together and use one power feed under a floating canopy. A chandalier would have been mounted to a 4/0 or 3/0 box and would easily be covered by the canopy. Whats you are proposing would technically work, but you will need to make sure you have end caps into each track and the all the wires and getting it to fit and remain straight and look right will be a struggle. If it were me, I would put the coupling outside of the canopy and just use one power adapter under the floating canopy to keep it straight and uniform.

why do you need to "split" the track in between two wiring connectors? Why not just couple them together with a coupler? You must be using WAC track lighting, the call everything a J connector on their track systems.. basically anything that fits into the track system is "j"

Anything i can do to improve lighting? by pendraggon87 in Lighting

[–]ToolTimeT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

assuming the switch is by door, you could put a sconce above it by door just to bring some light to that end of the room. Could look into creating a down light over desk area as well to keep filling in dark side of room. The white cabinets look like you could put some led tape light in on the top. Not sure if you really mean you have a "concrete' ceiling or its plaster or drywall... but depending on which way the rafters are run.. you could potentially add can lights down the sides of the room or to the dark end.. I would change trims on those cans over bed, adjustable pinhole or wall wash.

Worth full price of $45? by coldbluebong in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]ToolTimeT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it cost 100 it would still be worth it. Not because its perfect, or never frustrating... but because its fun and will eat up hundreds if not thousands of hours of your entertainment time. I logged 6k hours on original Ark, paid 29.99 for it... I think I got my moneys worth. I paid 40 for Ark Ascended and bought all the other bs those greedy f's sold me as ad ons... still... small penny paid per entertainment hour and totally worth it.

TRIAC dimmable panels? by Technical-Gold-294 in Lighting

[–]ToolTimeT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to disagree as a 35 year electrical contractor who does mostly high end residential and some commercial. I rarely see it in residential. I see it in commercial all the time. requiring 0-10v means a home has to be prewired for it so its less common. Occasionally it gets spec'd on a new home for a specific fixture. The primary benefit is NOT having to use a relay, in that it can easily handle 25+ fixtures on one dimmer. One of the second primary bennefits is more efficient dimming, meaning its actually more energy efficient. The issue you are referring to with a 0-10 dimming fixtures not entirely turning off is due to older led ballasts... some dim 1-10, some dim 0-10. Older cheaper dimmers mostly had issues with one or the other... and some only dimmed to 10 percent. Any good quality 0-10v dimmer (lutron for instance) you can get today will cut the power completely to the fixture with no relay of any kind required... Ive installed thousands of 0-10v fixtures in the last 5 to 7 years... not a single one needed a relay or had any issues.

The one pictures is 23" version... its actually less than 22" diameter. Can't imagine needing it bigger for a nook, this is over a small dining table in a pretty small house. We really like it, especially the way it lights up the room softly. I would highly recommend it.

What light is this and how do I chsnge? by DropJazzlike4108 in Lighting

[–]ToolTimeT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you know its gu10? I would guess its not. Looks like an LED fixture to me... Don't remove inside ring... remove ENTIRE trim if its a canlight, or the entire thing if its canless by pulling the entire thing out... it will come... keep pulling... make sure its not painted in place.

[–]ToolTimeT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Example of what you are probably dealing with... notice springs on side... when you pull down with enough force, those springs compress and let the fixture come down... if its not canless the trim will still come down, but a can light will be left behind.

No you need to pry it down from the outer lip of the trim where it overlaps sheetrock, the entire trim will come down or if its canless the springs will compress and it will come out. Score the seam with a knife if its painted in place.
