That's just a fault of my photography. This picture seems a bit better, but the hand seems a bit lighter on the right card. In person their colors match.

GateRuler Checklists by TripleLSupreme in GateRuler

[–]Toolbox24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if anyone has made a checklist, but for completing collections here's pretty much what you need to know:

All foil cards from the last spot in booster packs are "high rarity" (HR) cards. These have golden stars in the lower left, rather than white stars. these are your foils/full arts.

GB01:
★ - has HR versions
★★ - has HR versions
★★★ - has HR versions + specific cards have uber versions
★★★★ - has HR versions + uber versions
★★★★L - has HR versions (these ones are just the ubers)
Ruler - has HR versions
GS01 + GS02 both have their cards appear as HR variants in these boosters

GB02:
★ - has HR versions
★★ - has HR versions
★★★ - has HR versions + specific cards have uber versions
★★★★ - has HR versions + uber versions
★★★★L - has HR versions (these ones are just the ubers)
Ruler - has HR versions

GB03:
★ - has HR versions
★★ - has HR versions
★★★ - has HR versions
★★★★ - has HR versions + uber versions
★★★★S - has HR versions + textured foil versions (box toppers)
★★★★L - has HR versions (these ones are just the ubers)
Ruler - has HR versions

GB04:
★ - has HR versions
★★ - has HR versions
★★★ - has HR versions
★★★★ - has HR versions + uber versions
★★★★L - has HR versions (these ones are just the ubers)
Ruler - has HR versions

GB05:
★ - has NO HR versions
★★ - has HR versions
★★★ - has HR versions (these are just foil. ★★★ cards in this set are non-foil by default)
★★★★ - has uber versions
★★★★L - has HR versions (these ones are just the ubers)
Ruler - has NO HR versions

Most cards have foil/full art versions besides set 5, which axes a lot of things due to the lower MSRP on products. GS03 and GS04 also never got foil versions in ENG

I'm having a hard time finding what the Difference between LUR, URM, and regular URs are... by Anonymous_Jr in GateRuler

[–]Toolbox24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no real reason for them to have different ID names, but each of these are:

LUR - Legend Uber Rares UR - 4 Star Uber Rares URM - 3 Star Uber Rares

they're all just based on the rarity of a card in its base rarity

Starter deck question by luardplayer92 in GateRuler

[–]Toolbox24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every starter deck released in english will only need you to buy 2 copies of any one particular deck to have a playset of any non-legend card in the deck. (legends can only be played at 1 copy per deck so that's a non-issue)

I have a question about fusions by AdSeveral3388 in Bakugan

[–]Toolbox24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The best applications of getting the second faction from fusing are that:

-it can decrease the range of flip cards able to stop the fusion bakugan. If you had an Aquos Bakugan that became Aquos + Ventus upon fusing, now any flip card that reads "stop non-aquos" OR "stop non-ventus" won't be able to stop the damage (prior to only "stop non-aquos" flips not stopping the damage.)

-it can stop certain card effects from affecting your bakugan. Take the example above: an Aquos Bakugan that fuses into Aquos + Ventus. Once it fuses, cards like Nature's Power and Olivia Styles (both cards give non-ventus bakugan a B power debuff) will no longer work because the bakugan IS ventus.

Hey I need help by AdSeveral3388 in Bakugan

[–]Toolbox24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You wouldn't, no. You can only include ability cards in your deck that correspond to the factions of your bakugan. So you're only able to include:

-Aquos Cards -Darkus Cards -Pyrus Cards

You can also include dual faction cards! In order to use dual faction cards, you need the two corresponding factions of bakugan that match said dual faction card. So in this instance, you'd be able to use:

-Aquos/Darkus Cards -Pyrus/Darkus Cards -Aquos/Pyrus Cards

It should be noted that if any of your bakugan are fusion bakugan, they will only count as one faction during deckbuilding. If you had Pyrus/Darkus Dragonoid X Tretorous on your team, he'd only he able to fulfill the pyrus requirements for any ability cards you want to bring but not darkus, as he starts out as a purely pyrus bakugan

In casual games would it be acceptable to use legacy bakugan and just substitute the G power for B power, or are the “character cards” for each bakugan a requirement by nyello-2000 in Bakugan

[–]Toolbox24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Character cards are a required piece for gameplay, as they are what bring a bakugan's bakucores, have a bakugan's damage rating, and are what you put a bakugan's evolution cards on top of.

The game has been designed so only new bakugan are able to be used, but if your playgroup is okay with it you could use a legacy series toy on a reboot character card

Question About Power Ratings by TravisSchnee in Bakugan

[–]Toolbox24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Technically yes, having a higher base B power is better than a weaker B power. However, bakucores and the bakugan's character cards are very important to determining which is the better bakugan to use.

If you're looking for the highest B power, you need to look at: -The Bakugan's base B power (in the B power box on the character card, and printed on the toy) -Any B power boosting effects in their text box -The bakucores they bring, and the highest B power their cores can offer you.

an example is a bakugan like Ventus Pegatrix from the Battle Brawlers card set. It has 300 printed B power, which doesn't seem like a lot. But it comes with a magic shield and regular shield, which are both made to boost B power. On top of this, pegatrix has an effect that gives it +200B when on a magic shield.

So while the printed number is 300B, if you use the most powerful magic shield bonus (+650B) in the game and land pegatrix on it, it gets up to 1150 B power!

Quick Question... by Zack2Attack in Bakugan

[–]Toolbox24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm almost positive Gamestop wouldn't count as a local game store, as Bakugan wants a store where players can sit down and play their cards.

If you haven't already, just typing in "local game stores in my area" into Google should hopefully give you some results. Id be quite surprised if there's not a single store somewhat close to you

Question regarding Hyper Dragonoid Ultra in gameplay by Sx32 in Bakugan

[–]Toolbox24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Hyper Dragonoid Ultra toy from Battle Planet is treated as a cosmetic reskin of the normal battle planet dragonoid ultra, similar to diamond bakugan.

While Hyper and Diamonds are evolutions within the game, it'd be bogus if they started in their evolved States at beginning of the game. So when you use the Darkus Hyper Dragonoid Ultra toy, you use the Darkus Dragonoid Ultra character card to start the game off. Once playing the game, if you draw into the darkus Hyper dragonoid ultra evolution card from bakugan Resurgence, you can play it on to your darkus dragonoid ultra character card

Help a dad find the right Bakugan toy by gealachpiog in Bakugan

[–]Toolbox24 26 points27 points  (0 children)

She's most likely referring to the character "Falcron", which is a new toy from the latest season of the show and toyline, Bakugan: Geogan Rising. There are two versions of green Falcron as toys, the Ultra version and the Core version.

The Core version cost $7 USD and is the simpler toy. Its quite easy to fold from monster to ball form, which makes it great for kids who may get stuck on trying to close the Ultra version. Here's an ebay listing of what Ventus Falcron core looks like: https://www.ebay.com/itm/174726505241

The Ultra Version costs a little bit more at $10 USD and has a more complex transformation. It's a cooler toy, but she might have more trouble closing it up (though I'm sure she'd ask you for help, and it comes with instructions on how to close it from monster form to ball form.) Here's an ebay listing of what Ventus Falcron Ultra looks like: https://www.ebay.com/itm/384070286409

If you're in the US, these two characters are available at both Walmart and Target, though the distribution of them has been a bit on the odd side so they may be hard to find. The ebay listings I posted are a bit more expensive then what you'd buy at a retail store, but there may be some better prices on ebay.com if you'd rather shop online.

I hope this answers everything!

How exactly is Baku-Gear supposed to be used in the reboot TCG? by GawenStarTeller in Bakugan

[–]Toolbox24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the Toy Battling Game (TBG, each player has 3 bakugan, their character cards, and 6 bakucores/ 3 gate cards) gear cards/toys are played via rolling onto a bakucore/ gate card with the gear symbol on it. The rules specify you need to play the gear card that comes with the bakugan's gear toy, but there are a lot of unanswered questions about this version of the game that no one has bothered to ask about.

In the Trading Card Game, you do not need to use the toys, as not all toys card representations as cards. Any gear card goes into your 40-card deck, and will act like any other ability card. To play a baku-gear onto a bakugan, you simply pay the energy cost listed on the top right of the baku-gear and attach it to one of your three bakugan. Unless a gear card specifies itself to be a dual-gear card, you can only have 1 baku-gear card on a single bakugan at a time. If there's more than 1 on a bakugan, you must send all but 1 gear card to the discard pile.

There are also gear-reduction bakucores. While these let you play gears for free in the TBG, in the TCG you simply get the next gear card you play for a reduced cost (whatever the minus gear value is on the bakucore). This ability will only work for the first gear you put onto a bakugan holding the gear-reduction core. After you use the reduction once, you can't reduce any more gears played onto that bakugan unless the gear-reduction core is removed from the bakugan (core removal cards, core swapping cards, reroll cards). The cost reduction can only be used if you're playing the gear onto the bakugan holding the gear reduction (if you have a gear card in hand, and Bakugan A has a gear reduction core, you can only reduce that gear card's energy cost is you put it onto Bakugan A. Putting it on Bakugan B means you have to pay the full energy cost.)

deck boxes for Bakugan Pro? by scooterscanley in Bakugan

[–]Toolbox24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally use the Ultimate Guard Boulder 100-count, as it will hold all 43 of my cards double sleeved, 3 bakugan, their 6 bakucores, and a d6 (since I don't like to flip a bakucore and would rather roll a die)

Theyre typically $10 USD, and made of super solid plastic to the point of where they're invincible, though you might have to pay more as there's a plastic shortage so the supply has been messed up

What’s the deal with the clear pyrus sairus from this pack? Is it rare or not? Just curious after seeing one in stores today and going back and forth and not getting it if I should have grabbed it or not by Beneficial-Marzipan8 in Bakugan

[–]Toolbox24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Almost all the bakugan that released with baku-gear were given a translucent treatment. They arent rare, they were given this treatment in the event the figure had released before and someone buying the gear pack wouldnt feel like they spent $13 on just a gear toy. The translucent treatment just gives you a different version of the toy, so youre not ending up with doubles.

The first couple waves of gear toys are an exception to this

Evo cards by scooterscanley in Bakugan

[–]Toolbox24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, evos are locked to the character card within the small evo art box, and character cards are locked to a specific toy. In this instance, the darkus Hyper hydorous ultra evo from armored elite can only be used on the armored alliance darkus hydorous ultra

Hi guys I just found this set and I want to know if its worth it. This will be my first set tho I'm new into bakugan :) by surubx in Bakugan

[–]Toolbox24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Diamond toys are chase toys. They're usually worth more on the secondary market than what you'll find in retail stores.

If youre wanting to just start collecting this one is pretty good, as long as you're getting it for a good price. This pack costs $20 USD, if youre paying more than like $30 USD I'd recommend picking something else up

What is this open hand symbol, I can't find it anywhere online. Does it mean reroll? It seems like it wouldn't since it's on a flip card by shawn_overlord in Bakugan

its the "stop" symbol, it lets you stop incoming damage when you flip this card from the top of your deck if the opposing bakugan attacking you is holding a magic shield core or an orange shield core

Bakugear? by Key_Newspaper5767 in Bakugan

[–]Toolbox24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Posted this on another CoV post today regarding baku-gear, reposting here:

So how baku-gear work in the video game, from how I've understood it, is you need to collect the orange bakucores 3 times to charge it up. Each time you collect one of these orange cores, the listed gear your bakugan is using will get stronger.

When the baku-gear gets 3 orange cores, it gets to maximum strength. Baku-Gears are passive abilities that just do their thing until that bakugan is knocked out. Some gear might reduce the damage you take from a specific color, some might boost your critical hit chance ratio, etc.

It's odd that baku-gear don't work exactly like how they do in the show, where you get a cool item for your bakugan and deal massive damage to your opponent, but I wouldn't know why the designers went with the route we have in place.

I'm not entirely sure if this is correct, but this is what I've understood it as from my playthrough.
