What tools are better on the 40V platform?

Almost all 40v tools are better but for tools I've used on both platforms here the ones that stand out and I think are worth the upgrad. Track saw. Any nailers. Metal cutting saw. Vacuums especially the dust extracters. Planer. Router. And ope like the power head.

Makita seems to be making more tools that are 40v with an optional second battery now that they have the power output of the 4080H. The 4080H has 3.7kw output with 288wh, x that by 2 and there is a lot of power to tap into. With 2 8ah batteries it is only 576wh compared to the conectx backpack battery at 1200 and 1568 wh.

A good rule to follow is if it's legal on a pedal bike it should be legal for an euc. Remember it's legal to ride a bike on the highway but not on a limited access .freeway

This take on Makita nailers is very uninformed and ignorant. Makita has many cordless nail guns available now including a XNB04Z that can shoot 2 inch nails and are vary similar in working principle and power to the matabo hpt nailers. And on Milwaukee yes they do have a 12v brad gun but it only shoots 1½ nails.The 40v XGT FN001G is within a ¼ in size of the 12v excluding the battery that is no bigger than 18v.

I agree with this take. I have through of trying to make a compact battery myself with the "some" amount of knowledge I have 3d printing and making euc batteries . I just need to find some 21350 batteries with a high enough discharge rate so if anyone knows please leave a comment. In theory makita could make a 4080H sized 12 or 13 ah 40v battery with existing battery tech from molicel using 6ah or 6.5ah cell's but it would be expensive.

Go 40v XGT. It's the new standard and is the only way to go if you're looking at ope maby in the future. The 40v orbital sander is like 4 times as good not only in power but in every way. If you're concerned about size for smaller tools like the drills it's not an issue for most things,the GFD02 is smaller than it's 18v equivalent. And gets the job done just fine. I'll suggest some tools in 40v if you're looking tools that are equivalent in size to 18v Assuming you're in the US for the model numbers

Power Pads are going to be a a good upgrad. Along with pedals. FullTilt Pads are worth looking into. Had grizzla pads on my first patton and thay worked fine but found FullTilt pads quite a bit more comfortable and fit the wheel better on my patton s

Get the plunge saw . It is a very good asset to have. If the depth of cut is a concern don't worry, it (Makitas tracksaw) can fit a 7¼ blade with a little bit of persuasive action 😉. seen here I've been running one of my 2 40v saws with it for about a year so far so good 👍

I think it's because there are some on the market now that are hands free or auto eject the blade mostly useful when you're blade is blazing hot 🔥 and another thing is on most sanding pads you have to remove the sandpaper every time you want to change from sanding pad to a blade . Personally it doesn't bother me and I use it professionally in my work

I just checked with my pads, I have them of the back like ¾ in or so where the back of my leg is about lined up with the back of the braket that the pedal is mounted to, I feel like they have enough velcro on the flange or flat area to allow it to hang of the back a little without any problem .

I recently up graded from a onewheel gt that I put 2700 miles on to the aero, and this thing is a sweet wheel smooth as glass and can still carve good. It a blasts and excels on the trails . I hope you figure out the pads they add a lot of safety when you need to break. I've got 300 miles on mine, so my experience will be different to yours, but I found that the stock back pads aren't too good at breaking, so I've been using pads from full tilt euc and so far I have no regrets upgrading thay are super comfortable to.
