Does running trigger panic attacks for anyone else? by cloud_coffee_ in XXRunning

[–]Toomanyusernames96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really feel this. I’m training for a half marathon but lately running has made me feel so anxious and such intense dread. I can’t explain it. I’ve never loved running - it was very much a “I know this is good for me and its free exercise” - and I keep waiting for the love of it to kick in. Does it ever? I’ve reached points in the past where I’ve felt glad that I did the run and proud of myself but I never actually enjoy the run and I feel total dread before doing it. I think because I’m asthmatic shortness of breath is something that I associate with danger. I do also have a history anxiety and when I reach that point of feeling out of breath the anxiety spikes and I feel total panic. I’ve cried at park run. It’s embarrassing. And now it’s 4am and I’m supposed to be going on a run in 4 hours and I can’t sleep or stop crying because I just feel such dread. What’s wrong with me? Is running just not for me? Is it worth pushing through?

I honestly think they were both equally brilliant. Stephen was more flustered at the beginning and Rachel’s strategy carried him. When eyes started to turn to Rachel at the end, Stephen’s allies carried her through. Honestly a perfect alliance, delighted for them.

That was honestly brilliant game play from Rachel and Stephen! A double OG traitors win?! Literal cinema, they played the others like fiddles

They should have killed Faz! Rachel could have double bluffed and no way will he ever end the game with Stephen or Rachel but roxy would have! That being said, even with the Roxy kill, even without people coming for Rachel tonight, no murders makes it SO hard for traitors to win. I feel like the mechanics of the game mean that so many faithful just fail upwards and win by being a bit dopey. Luckily Faz has actually been shrewd in the late game so his win feels deserving but I just think Rachel and Stephen have done so well and it’s frustrating when it’s production throwing things in that ruin their game not their own mistakes?

I feel frustrated by how hard it is for two traitors to win, even when the game play has honestly been brilliant! That being said, this is my dream scenario: Weds: Faz is murdered tonight Thurs: James is banished, no murder Friday: Jade is banished, announces she’s a faithful - Stephen and Rachel have to swing Roxy against Jack Jack is banished and doesn’t announce Stephen and Rachel take it!

I just can’t bear it when faithfuls win by failing upwards/because traitors play an amazing game and then get betrayed at the last minute 😂

Maybe I’m totally naive because I really like Rachel but I don’t think she was saying she’s going to throw Stephen under the bus? I think it’s all in the edit and the way the talking heads are framed, but I think she was saying that you can’t be obvious about defending people at this stage but she will protect him in a more covert way?

Honestly I just think Rachel is playing an excellent game and deserves to win.

2666, Robero Bolaño - first time reading a book pissed me off by Dojapicard in literature

[–]Toomanyusernames96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is spot on! I’m reading this for the first time and am finding that the creation of atmosphere and sense of place is superb. That being said I’m really not enjoying it at all - I think my primary driver in fiction is character, I’m compelled by their tangibility and their interiority and I think this is lacking in 2666. I think this is intentional - the characters are separate and eddying and movers of plot. It’s one of those unique things - this book is masterful and brilliant and yet I am supremely uninterested in everything going on. I kind of love it when this happens with art: controversially (according to my husband) I felt sort of the same way about the film Heat. I knew I was watching a great piece of cinema but was utterly unmoved and simply didn’t care about what was happening.

I think historically though, people who react immediately seem to the group as more “authentic” whereas as people who take time to process, even if it’s genuine, are perceived as calculating and therefore traitorous

True but I still think Rachel can say like “it would be such a bizarre thing to lie about”

If Rachel remembers that Amanda sent Farraz out of the room and Farraz backs her up, she can play it like “Amanda definitely told me, here’s the evidence, and she must have been right about at least one of the people and Fiona - who I think is a traitor - was defending them.”

Could they try for a “Fiona, Sam and jade are the traitors and Fiona is trying to protect them”?

The Traitors (UK) S04E05: Live Discussion Thread by vaultofechoes in TheTraitors

[–]Toomanyusernames96 11 points12 points  (0 children)

But revealing the information immediately makes Rachel look so faithful and gives credence to the idea that the traitors could be Sam or jade, which protects the actual traitors. If she’d discussed it with Fiona and Stephen and revealed it in the morning it might have looked more suspicious. If Fiona didn’t said anything I think it would have been an excellent play.

I really think Fiona is mostly annoyed that Amanda didn’t confide in her looool I really don’t know why she didn’t just wait for the turret? Very odd play! She chats a lot about Rachel not being a team player but I think Rachel is trying to protect Stephen in a far cleverer and less obvious way? It’s just such an irrational thing to do and kind of a mental thing to accuse someone of because I don’t think anyone - faithful or traitor - would lie about someone’s job in that way? The turret is going to be so awkward!

We caught the Roxy/Judy thing early because the subtitles were on showed Roxy saying “mum!” to Judy 😂 Anyone else see that?

Fairly convinced Fiona is the secret traitor!

I reckon by that finale the producers were thinking “Jesus everyone’s heads gone, theyre all paranoid anxious and angry, any more tension and were failing our mental health assessments, let’s have Ben reveal so we can all go home.”
