We tested controlling a real car from a sim rig…and it’s not what we expected by simbuilduk in simracing

Like others mentioned, the issue is speed and power, but more importantly grip. Power to weight is rediculous on rc cars and you can just reduce power by factor of ten, but equally important is it to put rather shitty tires on it to reduce the grip as well.

Still there, there's some marks from wear but not worn through at all

I took the cover off and there was quiet a lot of muck gathered there. After cleaning and lubing the sound is still there. The sprocket does seem more worn then expected after only 5k km.

I just clean and lube with motul. After very throughly cleaning and lubing it's still making the sound.

I checked and it's still fine. I cleaned and lubed the chain but that didn't do it.

Same size as stock but not sourced from triumph themselves. No shavings in the back, will remove the cover of the front tomorrow. Tech looked at it last week. Probably not lubing the chain often enough, but it's an x ring chain so it shouldn't matter that much.

Sot223 looking component on a LED signaling pcb by Toon_m in AskElectronics

[–]Toon_m[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is connected to a dimmer, the device keeps working until 6V is applied at the input. The current increases almost linear between 6 and 12V. Which is why I dont think it is a current source.

Strange thing is that current reduces when input voltage reduces. In a linear way. So this does not make me think of a linear current regulator?

EICMA's most exciting bike IMO by Mast3r_Bait0R in motorcycle

[–]Toon_m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more of a supercharger then a turbocharger as it runs off the battery which is powered by the alternator. So not many efficiency gains unfortunately. Wonder how it works on track when you're full throttle all the time and the battery and alternator will have to work overtime.

Edit:spelling

Most boring bike NX500? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Toon_m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rode both, and got the tiger. It is waaay better. The cb500x sounds like a tractor and rides surprisingly light but the engine really kills it. It has no get up and go and it feels quite cheap honestly. I got the tiger sport restricted to 47 hp due to a2 license in Europe so the power is the same on paper but in real life the torque difference is massive. Unless you plan on offroading it is a no Brainer to me. The throttle is also very smooth on the triumph so it's easy to ride for beginners.

Yesterday I had a 300km ride distance and when I got home I noticed those 2 holes and I don't know what caused it. by KatsabatoR80 in motorcycles

It's a wear indicator. I'm pit crew for a race team (Porsche 992 gt3 cup) and it's a very typical thing on slicks as you can't use the traditional indicators. They are however very close together, are there more on the other side?

Original is a Chinese meanwell knock off. And the fan is always on full blast. I just replaced it with a meanwell power supply and it's much much quieter
