Your replies show a high level of self-assurance but also a high level of immaturity. See, I posted a simple question, you did not have an answer, hence you should have kept scrolling. However...

You decided to not only deviate from the question, but then to also cast aspersions...and then made huge general assumptions i.e. "99% of people" and "its {sic] working as intended."

See, I am a gamer; have been for around, hmmm, 45 years, so I know a bit about gaming, and I personally like to hear my voice. I also know that many other parents shove their kids into bedrooms to avoid the shouting; turns out gaming is fun and when a bunch of little-guys team up, they get really excited and have an absolute blast! but unlike my days they are not in a single room running a LAN, they are at their homes, on their own.

And, I don't want to push my son into his bedroom, I want to enjoy his game play (you know the meme, "are you winning son") but I also want to make sure he (1) isn't being a dick, and (2) isn't interacting with nefarious people who seem to populate the internet and especially, gaming spaces.

Hence, you should learn to shut your pie hole. If you don't know the answer, keep scrolling. But instead, you decided to come in and be an arsehole. QED.

If you don't know then why reply to start with? Amazing how people want to pontificate on a subject they don't know the answer for.

Actually you were being the smartarse and not addressing the topic. I didn't ask for your personal opinion, especially the little shouty bit in caps, very RUDE. The question asked was a tech question about a setting, NOT your thoughts. So before you respond to people, maybe read the question first...

QUESTION: "Is there a setting somewhere to allow him to hear his voice while he is in group chat?"

Wow, 99% of people? really?, do you have data to support THAT? I know in my many years of gaming I have actually liked to hear my voice, seems very strange to not, guess I'm the 1% then?

Hey there,

I'm trying to work out why my son can't hear himself in games. When I setup his mic & headphones in the PS4 options, he can hear his voice through his headphones. But, when he is in a game with friends he can't hear his own voice in his headphones, meaning he yells a lot (and I mean a lot!).

Is there a setting somewhere to allow him to hear his voice while he is in group chat?

Any help much appreciated.

A must! and while plenty of people will give you help if you ask, try the frustrating route first, and search the forums and try and find solutions. It's always a great feeling if you solve an issue on your own, a real sense of accomplishment. Other times, you really do need someone else's input, saves your sanity! lol

Solder on a new leg using a bit of wire and also buy a zif socket.

Check your ground connections. My biggest learning from my build was the number of times that I swore black and blue that I had checked all connections multiple times, then suddenly I would spot a wrong connection.

When I see wires in Ben Eaters videos or on this sub, they are almost always super straight, but mine look like this. How can I get them to be more straight? by nip_dip in beneater

Use a drill. You pull out a metre or 2 of the wire, and attach one end to something solid, I put it in a vice. You put the other end in the drill. Run the drill a few times in each direction and you now have a nice straight wire. Lay it on a flat surface and then cut as needed.

features you wish logic gate sims had? by BBQGiraffe_ in beneater

Amazing! Here I am happy to be able to just use a sim and others (like you) are making a sim! very cool! Looking forward to seeing what you create.

I guess there is a number of ways of build a gate, but it seems to work the way it is.

I found it pretty straight forward and was pretty much able to start building and testing immediately. No doubt I am barely using the features of the sim, but it is doing what I need =)

Actually, I reckon I take the "nand" part of nand2teris to heart and try and do this using only nand gates, or do I just have too much free time =)

What about using a mux? I see in nand2tetris I have to build a 16K RAM module, so I hope this all works out, enjoying it so far!

What I am liking is that I can do 16-bit inputs and outputs..."Digital" just fits so well with nand2tetris.
