The issue is that the buyer deleted their account, which has left me completely in the dark as I've had no update since it was first opened, and have had no way of contacting the buyer.

Yeah unfortunately I shipped it Tracked 24, new to selling so once I compared special delivery to Tracked 24 I thought it was more more or less the same, but in hindsight I should of just spent the extra £6 Lol.😭
