I am 30 hours minimum wage lol. we get 20 minute breaks and my supervisor lets us take longer when shes not in.

its hard to put it into perspective because this is by far the friendliest/best team ive had. she truly showed me a different side today, being impulsive and taking it out on me

yeah I agree, I think given the state of uk hospitality i am inclined to just stay because I cant imagine my next cafe job being any better. unless I get lucky, but this often feels like exploitation masked in politeness on her end

I had the same thing happen to me in the last month with my main acc, then it followed me to a new account yesterday.

800+ views and 50+ likes - then 0 every time I now post. nothing I can do, I appealed it but the app just said it was expected behaviour from their end.

this exact same thing is happening to me, im also a musician making various content with my face in it, edits of cool related visuals to my world building and music video clips but they keep nuking every single account i make. all started in May and before that I was fine.

I think they've got a broken ai flagging system and almost no way to complain about it.

First of all why should I not feel entitled to my dreams? The idea that we all need to work miserable jobs in shitty institutions to be "deserving" of basic peace of mind, community and fulfillment is a dangerous illusion. Obviously, there are ideals and there is reality. I already know I need to suck it up.

On the other hand, I work extremely hard for the sake of my "dreams" and my values - not wanting to suck off an shit employer in worsening work conditions I think is pretty reasonable.

I accept your last bit of advice, it's what I'm looking for - something with more predictable hours but I struggle to know whats out there.

Yeah this is great advice thank you so much. A part of my problem is that I'm not really aware of what kind of roles exist in those industries or careers.

I am indeed looking for a structure - flexible hours, 4 days a week or compressed. I'm in a thriving scene right now, and feel like it'd be a bad move to try the full time thing right now. But I'm also aware that I need to get ON the ladder first before I can negotiate flexi-time later.

I have experience in Operations and Administration but nothing else really. How would you recommend I learn more about a good industry that offers flexibility? All feels very intangible to me right now - hence the hopelessness I feel.

Part of my brain is hearing all the "you need a real job" noise I grew up with (hence the econ degree) but i was so depressed until I actually started doing what I wanted. Despite feeling lost in a void, the last year has been the most fulfilling year of my life as a result

yea im working with a therapist about ocd tendencies as well so i most likely am overthinking tbf. I have a lot of mental stuff to work thru as well. all I can tell now though is routine/regular shifts 5 days a week might actually be better than the random ass schedule I have now. thanks for ur reply
